You can install 1 copy on all of your machines. It is part of Mac App Store licencing so you just log on to each Mac App Store using the log in credentials of the account you purchased it. Navigate to the purchased tab and select it to download.
It is totally legal, so no need to worry about it.
They should have had the sense to stagger this release worldwide...
Agreed, I am a little surprised that it wasn't staggered. But realistically if the choices were having to wait until n time for it or having it in use by n, I'd choose the latter every time. On a more positive note about the slower speeds, it gives me time to reflect on the memories of downloading a song or a 30 sec porn clip would take 30 min. Ahhh the good ol' days where a blurry, scratchy sounding clip was enough. lol
Installing is MUCH slower than the download. And the minutes indicator spectacularly wrong! Started of with saying '33 min remaining' about half an hour ago. Currently it says '22 min remaining'.
FYI, If you are in the developer program, there is no need to purchase this as that is covered under your developer license. Your GM build is the release version.

No family pack pricing? My whole family want it...now. But we're not paying 20 nicker each for it.
You don't need to check the license
'to download, install use and run for personal non-commercial use, one copy of <blah> for each computer you own or control.'

On the other hand it seems the tidal wave of geeks rushing to read John Siracusa's review has crashed Ars Technica
Keeps saying "An error has occured"...
Did the same thing to me... I then pressed either Option+Buy or Command+Buy and it let me download it. Give it a shot!!
Thanks a lot! That worked.
Couldn't resist. Should have, I know.
Downloading now. Sure hope Lion is snappier.

So am I the only one who can't download it?
Keeps saying "An error has occured"...

no, no you are not.
Had the same problem luckily. Had forgotten that i got it for free because of recent sandybridge 27" iMac purchase
Seems the redeem code i recieved will work for my other macs as well
No but it is Snappier?
Someone had to trademark "Snappier." Quick thinking! Hope I can use it without fee.
What is the Build of the Version from the App-Store?
The July 11 Mac OS X Lion GM build (11A511) actually have a newer build number than today's release? (11A494)
So today's release is build 11A494 ? Yes or no please?
agree, also it would be more fair
It wouldn't really change much. You'd just have errors and time outs starting earlier and lasting just as long.
So today's release is build 11A494 ? Yes or no please?
NO.
GM Build: 11A511
GM InstallESD.dmg MD5: b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a
App Store Build: 11A511
App Store InstallESD.dmg MD5: b5d3753c62bfb69866e94dca9336a44a
So, yea, bit by bit identical.
