That MWC awarded the Smartphone of the Year to the Samsung Galaxy S II, and not the Apple iPhone 4S.

Apple: Enjoy your meaningless top award, Sammy. Meanwhile we'll just roll around in the record profits we're making.

Android is all Samsung at this point. And, I do not fear any company that has the bal** and ineptitude to bring something like the Note to the market. I checked it out at Best Buy today. Exhibit A for POS

    No fear

Selling in large numbers does not make a product "better". Instead, a product is better if the company who manufactures it makes a lot of profits.

However in terms of software it is a different story altogether!

Galaxy S2 is a fine phone.. I just ditched my third iPhone (3/3S/4) late last year (Dec 31) - though I wish I had waited a bit longer for a Galaxy Note. iTune/Appstore is certainly nice, but Galaxy S2 has all l need from a smart phone - phone, email, web browser and podcast. Will reconsider Apple iPhone when it comes out with a bigger display.

Profit does not make a good product. Profit makes a good stock.

They would vote Samsung or some other non-iPhone maker as Manufacturer of the Year, because the MWC is for all the also rans, which Apple ignores!

The award, voted by Apple's competitors, conveniently ignores the fact that Apple is so successful that it makes three times as much profit as all the other mobile phone makers combined.

What is surprising is that they voted for iPad as the Tablet Of The Year, bearing in mind that the award is voted for by all Apple's competitors. It seems to show that even its competitors realise that the iPad is generations ahead of the rest of them!
