I must be missing something obvious that you intend for us to get: can you explain a bit more, for us lay folk?
Apple's been lining up all aspects of Resolution Independence and it's accompanying application spaces before they bring it to the general consumer. Getting the Patents to do so are a must. The goal is to bring Res-I to all UIs across the entire Apple Ecosystem.

- A bunch of developers of popular apps will come on stage to demo their new Retina versions.
I think several of those will come to pass. One huge exclusion is no mention of new Airport routers if you think the iPad will get 802.11ac. I personally don't expect 802.11ac to arrive until the next MBPs at which time we'll get new routers.
... and hopefully some LucasArts guys'll come on stage & blow everyone away with a UnrealEngine3-powered "Star Wars" game !!
I would pay $15 for a version of Tie Figher or X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter on the iphone or ipad. Even if they kept all graphics and gameplay the same but just increased resolution. shaded polygon graphics are ok with me. It was the gameplay that was the best.

Anyway, I think the haptic rumour is interesting and a strong possibility given the evidence.
Looks like most sites are using Scribble Live these days. No reader comments :-(
We have an entire FORUM for comments?

It's not the same as the chat systems that Cover It Live! etc, used to provide. Not everything said needs to be immortalised in a forum.
Anyway, the folks at The Verge are in the queue now. 40 minutes to go!

It is not coming anytime soon although I would be happy to be wrong.

No iPods. No televisions (HA!).
Fail.

Since everyone decided to use the same system, the system is down.
