The exterior color of a car can affect how it absorbs the sun (a little). We wanted a medium blue but settled for a dark cherry 2007 Mazda 6 wagon because the blue was only available on the hatchback (despite that we were custom ordering the car). The color of the interior both affects sun absorption and how well it hides the dirt... The Contour Showcase is probably one of the few cases where the color of the iPhone is obvious (as in *really* with a clear window over most...
Let's take the diagonals of a similar item, books: Paperback, 7 7/8" (The Stone War by Madeleine Robins [know the author]) Trade Paperback, 9 7/8" (The Number by Lee Eisenberg) Hardcover, 11 1/8" (Start Where You Are by Chris Gardner [The Pursuit of Happyness guy]) [Of course I recommend all three... ] The hardcover comes out first, and is very durable, but weighs quite a bit. The Paperback is smaller, but so is the print and they're cheaply made. The Trade Paperback is...
Sorry, I have only seen that in history books. Congrats for good photo editing, old timer... Now, for the other thought - Microsoft stuff *reduces* the productivity of its users, dragging the economy down. Hey, should the new Obama Jobs program really be putting Microsoft out of business? Unfortunately, Ballmer has probably already made threats about license pulling so that governments could no longer produce documents with which to go after them.
How about laugh so hard you cry? At least they could use specialist-made decorations. The clapboards look like the employees used stencils and spray paint... The parade does show the difference between Apple and many leaders in other industries - They go out and produce the best product they can and let the public decide what they want. Some others, like Microsoft, use assorted backdoor methods to come out on top. I'm saddened by the number of people who trust their CIOs...
For those folks who think an iPad costs too much money, check out Malibu Grand Prix Redwood City, CA. An iPad for twelve tokens... I haven't hit it myself yet, but I do have an Asus Eee PC 900 HD and a Nintendo DS Lite for my younger daughter out of their machines.
Uh, they ship a lot of cheap instant eWaste. I wouldn't be so proud of the Android market, where Buy One Get One Free offers push their market share, but tank their profits. BTW, why are people looking for Apple to push more units out the door when they have problems meeting *current* demand? I'm not sure Android buyers are very sharp. Listened to one fellow who gave up on his iPhone waiting for AT&T to fix the reception in his apartment. I wonder if he ever *told* AT&T...
For a mass market product like like a smartphone, Sony can't leave out girls and women. The PSP does - quite a lack of games for them. I couldn't figure out why our local Girl Scout council offered them as incentives for selling 1000 boxes of cookies this year. Better would have been offering a Ninetendo DS. Both of mine love theirs, playing their Pokemon games on them. Which prize were the girls pushing for? The iPod Touch at 1500 boxes. Girls and women are not being left...
All this focus by Cnocbui on money must mean he has none... Of course, many of us have done very well by investing in Apple, Inc., especially at the right times like April 2003 myself (and I have the Schwab Trade Confirmation to prove that... (Yet another company started in 1977)) for under $7 per share. Good thing I'm under a pseudonym - otherwise I'd have to post a darn disclosure and disclaimer.
"Star Trek: Save the Whales", sure...
HP Staff has made major poor decisions before. One of them thought that a small computer wouldn't go anywhere and allowed one of their engineers to go off and start his own company. That engineer is named Steve Wozniak, and with partner Steve Jobs, they started in January 1977 what would become Apple, Inc. (a month before the company for whom I work started). In the middle of Stagflation and a Recession, what a time to start a company...
