    Hrmmmm.....the subject is trial strategy.  Here we have an opinion as to trial strategy by a person who has never been to law school, not even the worst law school in the entire country, not even attaining a rank of the bottom of the class.  A guy who has never, not even once in his life, decided upon proper trial strategy.   And he's saying that the trial strategy is 180 degrees off - that it does not advance the case, but instead, that it proves the case brought by...
    He deletes the spam.  He's kind of like the old guy you see in front of a hotel, with a miniature broom and dustpan, sweeping up the gum wrappers and cigarette butts.   But he needs to be told not to talk to the guests.  He bothers them.
    Generally, they are not merely descriptive, like App Store.   If somebody tried to obtain Trademark registration for the name Coffee Shop to describe, well, a coffee shop, they would meet the same fate as Apple trying to register App Store.

    Nobody in the thread said that trademarks need to be coined words,  Maybe that explains your misunderstanding.   "Taco  Bell" is fanciful.  It does not describe the establishment literally.   App Store, on the other hand, is merely descriptive, much like Taco Restaurant.   Nobody is complaining that the two words, apart from each other, have independent meanings.  Is that what you thought "generic" means?  That the mark is composed of common words?   Learn the basics,...
