http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2012/09/how-google-builds-its-maps-and-what-it-means-for-the-future-of-everything/261913/ In business, this is what we call a moat, and Google has invested significant money and manpower creating one of the largest and most effective moats I’ve ever seen--around their mapping software. They’ve got planes. They’ve got satellites. They’ve got cars and bikes with those crazy nine-eyed cameras. They’ve got hikers and bikers...
LOL another worthless apologist. probably a shareholder. fake cons? that's all you got? leave your bubble for about five seconds and look at the rest of the internet. everyone, even the apple faithful, is pissed off about the new maps. http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2012/09/21/the-most-hilarious-fails-of-apple-maps/ http://www.cnn.com/2012/09/20/tech/mobile/apple-maps-complaints/index.html even David Pogue said the new connector is bullshit....
I just gave you a clear and concise argument as to the reasons why the new maps suck and the new connector sucks. And instead of replying to the argument directly, you use smoke and mirrors, deflections, and a complete disregard for facts that are staring you right in the face.
The article succinctly explains the process with a high level of detail. What are your issues with it?
lol seriously? that's all you got? well, of course it is. because my main point stands, which is that both of these technologies were a step BACKWARDS and not FORWARDS. With this and their recent screw ups in the retail space, Apple is really frakking up recently. Dvorak predicted this would happen without SJ at the helm. Looks like he was right. Try to process this now... people are pissed off at Apple not because of bad mapping data, but because they allowed their...
My opinion is quite informed… to which I shall now demonstrate since you're clearly 12 years old and don't know any better… If you're going to disrupt a clearly established ecosystem by changing a piece of hardware, that change should come with enough benefits that outweigh the negative aspects: PROS: Smaller Digital CONS: Incompatible with billions of accessories Expensive adaptor Slower than current technology allows (USB 2 vs USB 3) Removes features like audio and...
You have no idea how difficult it is. This article really opened my eyes as to why Google Maps will retain technical superiority to all other mapping solutions for some time to come. http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2012/09/how-google-builds-its-maps-and-what-it-means-for-the-future-of-everything/261913/
I doubt Google will submit a maps app since their mapping solution is a significant selling point for team Android.
Since none of us have a crystal ball, that may or may not be true.Since I live in here and now, I can say with confidence that the new maps currently suck and so does the new connector.
You're clearly confused. Let me help... FlyOver is novelty. In other words, it can't be used for any PRATICAL applications. It's a "gee-whiz" feature. Street View is actually useful. If you're going to an unfamiliar area, you can look around and get your bearings first. I used it all the time and miss it now, along with biking and PT routes. Or are those novelties, too. You apologists are hilarious. Just like Republicans, you'll say ANYTHING to get your point across,...
