DUDE, you think I haven't done that yet? Try 8 times! I've logged *hours* with the chimps over in AT&T's "iPhone Activation Center". Some say the phone is already activated. Some say there's a problem with my particular account. Some say the system is just slow. They all say something different, but the common denominator is that they're all useless in solving the problem. Calling customer service is just the BEGINNING of one's problems when trying to activate the phone....
How about sticking to the basics, Apple, and helping AT&T work out its phone activation process. It could definitely use a whole lot of bug-testing. 40 hours and counting!

Thanks! But your sarcasm aside, he did look a bit homeless, especially with the handwritten sign asking for food and metrocards. And it *was* a turn-off, given that the media might make him the poster child for Apple fans who are willing to line up for an iPhone. Image does count for something! Too bad you can't reconcile those facts to your little moral universe. P.S. Nice way to insult an entire religion, Mr. Holier Than Thou.
NEW THEORY! I think he's actually being paid to wait in line for someone else. * He's unemployed, so why not do it for the money? * He didn't seem to really know much about the iPhone either... "I'll see how it works". I bet that's it. Somebody put him up to this...
I'm afraid he's going to discourage other people from lining up at Apple's flagship store. Really: would you want to be seen sitting next to him? It would make me pause, that's for sure.
Would some kind forum member in the NYC area stop by the Apple Store, and give this guy a nicer shirt to wear, and a comb? Please? The Apple world would be grateful...
Jeez, the guy looks homeless with the shabby clothes and handwritten sign. I hope this doesn't get aired again and again on network TV. It's a turn-off....
People do move on, and that is healthy, but the smart ones remember the past to honor it and learn from it. I seriously doubt many Americans will "get over" 9/11 in our lifetime, much less as fast as some of the members here have done.... Anyway, I'm getting nervous that AT&T is taking so many public steps to prepare for huge crowds. Apple would have a big hit on its hands if the iPhone simply sold briskly, day after day. Expecting a summer season of big crowds seems a...
17 bloody days until the thing ships, and I still can't figure out if it will sync To Dos from iCal, or just calendar entries. It better do To Dos...
