unfortunately apple did not design the magnet placement to support portrait-oriented ipad covers such as cradle-oriented keyboards. as a result, the logitech ultrathin bluetooth case is mechanically unstable in portrait mode: the ipad simply tumbles backwards and crashes on to the table (the fact that a premium product -$120- doesnt have keyboard backlighting -or even solar power for that matter- is also an egregious design flaw: but that's off-topic hopefully apple...
WRONG! the complant is entirely well-founded ... the crazy navbar/banners take up too much space & they pop up just at the exact momments when the user wants to use that space as a control surface for the webpage but can't cuz these giant navbars (with no click thru behavior) are blocking the needed target. And as for the large typesize in his comment ... GENIUS! what better way to make the point about inappropriately dimensions!! LUV IT.
hey zunx. the short answer is, no, llvm is not about converting the UI from desktop osx to mobile osx. llvm is a tool that system-designers (at apple) create to make it easier for system them (ie the designers at apple) to create tools that developers can use to make their applications use the hardware in a more efficient way. as an end-user, the main impact that llvm will have on you is that you apps will run faster :-) dont be offended, but the explanation in the article...
1) cbt: apple leaves soooo much money on the table by ignoring the no-brainers like cbt -- especially for second language learning! apple needs to created a common reference point for language learning by licensing the Dragon voxreco engine (as well as pay the NRE costs for cepstral to port their engine to asian languages!) ... along with oem-ing the various pen input tools (cf: http://www.yale.edu/chinesemac/pages/palm.html) -- and yes, a BT stylus is inevitable...
Amen to that list, brother! ... el gatao is just plain lazy or simply dumb! (hard to say which is worse?) these are basic dvr-like features which elgato has ignored FOR YEARS! not to mention other no-brainers that elgato has also stiffed its users --- * online guides (as cited by another poster here ... nothing for canada, latam/south america, or asia) * subtitles (not burned in) & closed captioning & aux audio tracks ... // full support // is still MIA in short" the...
hmm, edits of posts produce duplicates of the posts!
strange editing/posting system at appleinsider messageboards!?
apple has better start getting serious about developing a real value proposition for the ipod ... zune2 is actually not a big joke (unlike zune1); not to mention that htc and google dream phone and a few others are going to offer compettion in europe & _especially_ asia. so the ipod needs a coherent plan (yes, i know: apple+coherence ... seems like an oxymoron). and the focus of that plan must be interactive content! * keynote is an obvious & glaring...
re cocoa @ melgross: "Contacts there told me that if they were to have done Cocoa, it might still be in alpha." did u mean to say if adobe had finally made a shift in the the toolchain to native cocoa in the xcode IDE, then "PS (etc) would *still* be in alpha now" instead of shipping as a 32bit (universal) app? ... ie a real osx build form adobe would have added another year to an already laggard deployment schedule for cs3?! re 64 bit @ melgross:" if it's really...
so, average joe ... we are waiting :-) what's your track record? -- way 2 go eiridium! ... adding facts instead of just bloated opinions to a messageboard!
