With the turgid water backdrop, I suspect Apple will be getting into the Swimming apps category, helping people maximize their swimming workouts and also providing a social component to communicate lap speeds with friends and family. Samsung, start your copiers.

 I agree that whatever Apple makes will be awesome, but I just don't think this health stuff will go mainstream. The fitness-nazis will buy these in droves, but I can't imagine a sustainable (read: profitable) ecosystem. It'll just be another category in the App Store, with none of the apps penetrating the Top 10 after the first week of buyer curiosity runs out. 
My view is that Apple is going to relegate the health features of iOS (namely, iOS8) to the background, maybe add it to the bottom-right corner of their very last slide of the very last presentation titled, "AC Power Adapters and You." Samsung's thinking they're onto something big, when it's simply going to be a niche market that people will dabble in for a day or two (hello gym memberships after the New Year!), then throw away in the closet next to the eight pairs of...
