You do realise the Mac Pro is only this size:That would easily fit in a lot of video camera bags.
The full article is behind a pay wall but 9to5mac took screenshots: http://9tomac.com/2014/03/16/sunday-times-interviews-jonathan-ive-on-everything-design-apple-and-much-more/ (put the 5 in the link).
They do need to shift a lot of boxes but the money doesn't just come from the box sale. I made a comparison in the other thread about this same subject:http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/164516/hdtv-sales-tumble-10-as-rumors-of-full-fledged-apple-television-set-have-all-but-vanished/40#post_2488217If we assume the TV would be upgraded every 7 years, the box 3 times during the same time and each user can be monetized at $30 per year in content sales, the revenue from this set...
The 880M is still Kepler. It looks like the ones for laptops will be Maxwell though:http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/178351-nvidias-gtx-800m-brings-improved-kepler-and-maxwell-cores-to-mobile-new-battery-boost-driver-to-double-gaming-battery-lifeThe chart there says only 15% improvement for the 880M vs 780M but 60% for the 850M vs 750M. They always claim more than it turns out but even taking a chunk out of the 60% would be a decent improvement over last year. If Intel...
There's a studio here does a lot of films and they show VFX breakdowns for a few of them (click on the movie and the breakdown button):http://www.rsp.com.au/portfolio.htm#Another studio Atomic Fiction uses iMacs and MBPs to do effects work and then pushes it to different cloud rendering farms:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PX4sHpwY3H0http://vimeo.com/58060379http://vimeo.com/59542337http://vimeo.com/59513312When the Mac Pro was being shown off at WWDC, some people had...
Availability is different from need but I implied larger sizes wouldn't be offered (mainly from Apple - standard PCs are used as servers so they might have some crossover) and it's based on a couple of things. Demand drives the prices to a certain point and determines manufacturers' options. Without the ever increasing demand, the prices won't keep dropping. If there reaches a point where Apple ships machines with 128GB at affordable prices, why would they offer a 256GB...
They use green for messages sent over cellular and blue for messages sent over wifi, the blue isn't too bad. The green is a bit overpowering and they could even have used dark grey:or maybe a very light green with dark text on top. They used green in iOS 6 but it was less saturated - they have to saturate it strongly now to contrast the white text. Maybe they are trying to discourage people from sending texts via cellular. The iOS 6 design side by side looks easier to read...
The increases have been in order to reach the limits of the media we use. We used to have black and white displays, then 256 colors, thousands, millions and we stopped there. We used to have really low resolution targets below 320x240 and it increased gradually (Finding Nemo in 2003 was rendered at 1600x900 and had to be redone for HD - http://www.tested.com/art/movies/449542-finding-nemo-3d-interview/ ).When it comes to video, there are limits to the...
We base it on our own limits. The limit of audio quality is what the human ear can distinguish. The limit in color accuracy and resolution is what the eye can distinguish. The amount of memory needed is based on the limited content that needs to be processed.Need doesn't go up if price comes down, people just buy what they need for less but RAM will become inexpensive to the point that 16GB can go into entry-level machines. DDR4 will probably allow all of Apple's machines...
Technology doesn't all keep increasing like that. Think about display resolution, it wouldn't have been right to say 640x480 was enough all those years ago but 'Retina' quality is enough (300ppi at arm's length). That means 4K or 8K is the limit for monitors and media. The only place that I see RAM getting bigger is if it becomes non-volatile and replaces storage but it won't be down to RAM running...
