I'm amazed with some of you. Seriously. First of all, (lets go on this long shot assumption) lets say Apple does decide to go with Verizon Wireless. Why do any of you think that they would then abandon GSM? What kind of logic is that? Second, who cares where this so called study comes from? In the end, it's complete LOGIC that Apple will eventually have to expand to other US carriers. If you HONESTLY believe that this is not necessary and only AT&T is fine, then I...
But where will Nintendo be in 5 years as well? Gone? I doubt it.Perhaps not, but you do know that Nintendo now has a download game/app store as well. I'm sure prices will adjust there. Just remember, everytime people underestimate Nintendo, they get get their a** handed to them later on. w00master
Perhaps this is true. However, I still contend that the iPhone/iPod Touch is a wonderful Mobile PHONE gaming platform, but as a pure gaming platform? Not so much.No physical buttons. This is the biggest killer in making it a true gaming platform. As much as I love some of the "action" titles on the iPhone/iPod Touch, they simply do not compare to the DS platform. The ease of use, the fluidity of action games on the DS is far superior due to this simple fact.I do...
Agree 100% on these thoughts. With all of the updates coming for iPhone 3.0, personally I really don't have that much more that I am missing EXCEPT for 2 things (as listed above): a revamped notification system (I like the Android/G1 methodology) and a way to better organize apps on the iPhone. I like the swipe idea, where if you swipe down, you'll see all of your notifications. Love that. Apple, are you listening? LOL w00master
It's because (imho, of course) the weakest aspect of the iphone (note: includes iPhone 3.0 features) is how the iPhone handles notifications. In my opinion, notifications on the iphone are simply horrid. It's here where Apple could really learn from their competitors. I'm still amazed that Apple went with the "pop-up metaphor" for notifications. We all know how popular pop-ups were on the web. I really hope in iPhone OS 4.0 that Apple revamps the entire notification...
Seriously, keep dreaming.And... you're not gonna see (legal) downloadable 1080p on a wide-scale anytime soon.w00master
I'm going to find it fascinating and interesting seeing how many people who claim that MMS is useless now will b*tch and moan that they can't do it on their original iPhone. Continuing... I'll say the nay-sayers of copy and paste now will be singing it's praises. Guess what people? IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THERE SINCE THE START.
I don't think anyone is claiming that MMS/tethering is "going to be the star" of the iPhone OS 3.0. This article was just a possible tidbit of what is coming.
I'm sure you've had this debate before, but I'll put it this way... since you believe what you believe (i.e. everyone should just go to email) then why did Apple add in SMS? Doesn't Email do things better then?Listen, in a "perfect" world, I'd agree with you that everyone just needs to go to email, but we don't live in a "perfect" world. All mobile phones have SMS. Nearly ALL mobile phones also has MMS. About HALF as many phones have some sort of email capability. ...
Because, it's a losing battle. Ever try to email using T9? Riiiight. That form factor (dial pad format) will NEVER go away. It's about d*mn time that MMS is coming. About d*mn time. I'm so freaking sick of going to that buggy site just to look at a pict. I just hope this rumor is true.
