"Just grab a DisplayPort-DVI adapter."
That's what I have now, but there is no MBP port that will accept DVI / (thunderbolt?). I need an adapter from the thunderbolt connecter to a USB or Firewire port. Does that exist?
I’m trying to find an adapter for a thunderbolt connecter to a USB or fireWire port. What wording would I have to use to google it or find it on MonoPrice, Belkin, etc.?
I’ve tried every combination that I can think of but come up with O results. Is there such an adapter?
I want to connect a 20” Viewsonic monitor by a displayport thunderbolt connector to a 15” MBP (early 2008) that has no thunderbolt ports.
Suggestions, anyone? Thanks in advance.
I'm using Safari 7 with Mavericks on my iMac. For the last few days, Safari immediately uses 7.99 of 8 GB of memory and runs as slow as molasses. For example, in working an online crossword puzzle, entering a letter follows about ten seconds behind entry.
Is there a way to download/replace Safari without reinstalling OS X Mavericks?
FireFox works fine but I'd prefer using Safari.
I was using Quicken 2006 (powerpc) which stopped working when I upgraded to Mavericks.
Would anyone recommend using Quicken 2007 for Lion (Intel) when upgrading to Yosemite? I need only basic record keeping and downloading from my bank. If not, what would you recommend?
Would I be able to transfer my Q-2006 file to Q- 2007? Or transfer from Q- 2006 to an alternate?
it's a ridiculous price for an unproven 'upgrade' (?). I can foresee many previous users shying away from it for those reasons alone, and Intuit saying, "See, we were right. Mac users aren't interested in an upgrade."
Since you’re new to Macs and not a techie, I can imagine that you’re having a hard time following complicated instructions.
I’m not a techie either and don’t know if you have the same problem I’ve had; however, in my case, AI members suggested that I empty the Trash. That worked for me. Probably too simplistic in your case but worth a try.
Don’t give up on Macs. They might present a high learning curve at first, but you’ll find them better than PCs. I used...
Have you tried re-launching Finder or http://forums.appleinsider.com/t/160979/flaky-mavericks?
