when he says:  "They are going to get people using it (the Passbook application) and then all of a sudden they will allow credit cards to be used in there, on the next iPhone, which will include NFC," Peters said." does he mean he thinks NFC will not be included in the model coming out this autumn?   If it doesnt include NFC of some kind other than what they have announced/hinted Passbook would be, it will be an unbelievable product development mistake and market...
Cook is too smart to let these kinds of lawsuits go any further than they have. Cook will choose to litigate those that are meaningful. Posner's reference to apple's total size etcetera is the new basis by which in fact claims need to be decided by apple if they are worth it to litigate: apple will need to show a great amount of actual damage before it will win many more lawsuits like this. Being  # 1, being the biggest, does matter. Go after google in a...
Current iPhones do not support TD-SCDMA.   Only China developed its own standard TD-SCDMA, presumably to avert patent royalty payments to Qualcomm and others.   However, it is is moot. Since the evolution of TD-SCDMA is actually TD-LTE, which this chip also supports.  Currently China Mobile has trials well along in 7 cities for TD-LTE, and has announced plans for coastal city rollout of TD-LTE in 2013. This chip gives China Mobile the ability in this year...
TD-SCDMA means China Mobile (finally) gets to market the iPhone directly and in a significant way.
your story is inaccurate. the 900 RMB you claim that workers were receving "just 3 years ago" was the minimum monthly wage in Shenzhen at that time. Workers were NOT receiving just 900 RMB 3 years ago in terms of actual take home pay. They were receiving over/around double that amount on average. If you investigate you will learn that any increase in salary that Foxxconn is newly claiming it will pay, is ofcourse figured on what an average worker would be taking...
can not be totally fabricated. police have confirmed that they escorted apple security personnel to the house and the occupant of the house said he was in fact at that bar. apple suspects that man (occupant of the house). but they have no proof. maybe even no actual internet trace of the phone to that address, maybe instead an eyewitness claiming it was that occupant who had it in his possession.
this would be great IF true. China Mobile has outright lied several times in the past to keep appearing as if there are or have been on-going discussions with apple. what can be true is that China Mobile will do its first multi-city trials for TD-LTE in early 2012. IF apple really will have China Mobile as a partner, it would be the mother of all launches. current iPhone related: yes. all of us are using iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4G, on China Mobile's 2G network (equivalent...
is LTE compatible with TD-SCMA? if yes, then this story has some remote chance of being accurate. apple would not build a separate model just for China Mobile until much later in the iPhone brand maturity - apple wont ignore a pool of 600 million users, but it doesnt jump at any opportunity that entails rolling out a separate SKU until it has maximised current version potential.
i have said it for the past 2 years. apple does not adequately manage a supply chain that includes china, yet this is not the first time violence has flared at apple stores in china. in both beijing and shanghai apple stores have had to close for a day or two before in order to get control of crowds. is this the chinese fault? no. apple doesnt have the resources in china who have been smart enough to put in place ways to manage launches. i place the blame squarely...
[QUOTE=IronTed;1859917]This is truly disgusting! This proves why China is still behaving like a Third World Country while they are going on their way to becoma a First World Country? Ever heard of scalping in Japan? IronTed, your post is spot on. In every way. 1/ when apple stores in china had the problem with scalping last year and the year before they began to require ID and everyone could buy either one or two depending on the item and time. they have changed...
