Apple has paid their f*cking taxes in the country where that money was generated. It's not "the right thing to do". Apple, as you stated, is a global company. They are not obligated to bring money generated in a country outside of the United States back in to the United States. What don't you understand about that?
Because crackheads and methheads are highly employable individuals with unlimited expendable income.
You need more RAM.   Chrome is a little memory hungry compared to Safari, but not so much so that you won't need to add RAM. Do you know if you have the MacBook (13-inch Mid 2007) or the MacBook (13-inch Late 2007)? They max out at 3GB or 6GB, respectively. If you don't know I'll respond with instructions.
I'm glad it's working again.
If Pages is frozen then force quit the application according to these instructions:   http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3411   Does opening Pages cause it to freeze again?
Use Activity Monitor.app, which can be found in the Utilities folder (/Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor.app). Sort by the %CPU header and report back what is taking up the most CPU. While you're in Activity Monitor click on the System Memory tab and report the number of Page Outs.
It's not to bad. Here's a repair guide.   http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iMac+Intel+17-Inch+Hard+Drive+Replacement/891/1
Reset the SMC according to these instructions.   How many watts is your adapter 65 or 85?   Is the LED on the adapter orange?
Can you please reply with you home address? I'm going to set up camp in your front yard, use you utilities, etc. Your imaginary "property line" is no different from the "imaginary line" that separates countries, right? I'll assume if you don't reply it's because you've had a change of mind on how imaginary those lines are.
