I was talking to an Apple Specialist on the phone yesterday that I've known for a dozen years. I've always used this guy to do repairs that required an Apple Authorized Technician at the last three places I've worked. I also buy all my major equipment from him. I pay a little more but I get great service when necessary. Anyways, enough of the background. I've been talking to him about purchasing a MacBook for personal use. We also got on the subject of probably purchasing...
I get 5 Mbps down all the time, but don't approach 2 Mbps up ever. It's usually a consistant 1.8 Mbps.
Lucky bastard! While I have FiOS (5/2), Verizon doesn't yet offer the television service here in Ft. Wayne. And the word is it'll be 2007 before it's available. I also pay $29.95 for my 5/2. I've heard that people who have 5/2 originally without the television service but add it later automatically get bumped to the 15/2 service. Does anyone know if this is true?
3.X will be free upgrades. 4.0 will cost "full price" again. ARD was released on March 14, 2002, ARD 2.0 was released on June 21, 2004 and ARD 3.0 was just released on April 11, 2006. A 27 and 22 month time between releases, respectively. I'd guess we won't see ARD 4 for a year and a half or more. Do you ever expect to have more than 10 Macs in service at one time? If so you could spring for the unlimited license. If I remember correctly the 10 user license will allow you...
And you got what you paid for. Try installing an OS update to 10 computers using VNC. People who complain about ARD don't use it for its intended purpose. If they would they would realize that it was worth twice what Apple charges us for it. I used to use VNC (OSXvnc and Chicken of the VNC) but now I administer my 7 Macs with ARD, the 10 client version, and it is well worth a few hundred dollars. VNC can't even begin to compare.
Explain "main hub". With you be hosting a dns server? website?, email?, vpn?, network user accounts, open directory?
Kasper- for the past couple days the front page has rendered correctly in Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) on Mac OS X 10.3.9. As CharlesS pointed out he resolved the same problem I was experiencing by emptying his cache. I too emptied my cache a couple days ago but can't confirm or deny if it was before or after. But it's good now. My only suggestion would be to split the page in to three columns.
Daylite or Redlien's Account Executive. I see that Daylite is out of beta. I tried it a few times but never had much time to really use it to see how good it was. Though the new GUI is much improved.
Maybe if these 96 errors were fixed the front page wouldn't be such a mess. I'd also have to suggest that being a moderator you should probably show restraint even when others don't, Kickaha.
Working today. Who knows why, but it is.
