Heheh. Yep. That'd be the idea. Going to spend about two days in London, 4 days in the Cotswalds, maybe a day or two in Bath, then over to Wales I think. Yet to do all the research but it looks like we can pretty much do the whole thing by train. A friend was recommending staying outside of London the day before we leave (to be close to the airport), maybe Oxford (just west of the city I think). Is that a worthwhile endeavor or is it pretty much like any other Ivy...
Wow. Good stuff. Thanks, Alex!
Yah but the alien machines were pretty bad ass when they popped up from the ground and vaporized people. Of course, the plot was a total sieve, and the family angst dialog alone ruined it completely for most people. Maybe if Zenu the Second hadn't been the main character, it would've worked better. Minus said dialog it at least would've been bearable for most people. Personally I would've liked to see more destruction and mayhem. But that's not the one I want scrubbed...
Thanks segovious (good to see you btw). So Wales is a country all its own. That's certainly how the map reads, I just can't find any demographics, flags, capital etc in my table of countries. Guess it's all lumped under the UK banner. I've heard of Snowdonia and also Brecon Beacon Nat'l Park. Both look very cool indeed. And lots of B&B type places to stay, and at a reasonable rate no less. Only wished I had more time to dedicate. Should be fun though, the only time I've...
Don't know what the budget is or how far from home she's willing to go but Columbia College in Chicago has a number of very good programs, without all the nose-in-the-air crap you'll get from more prestigious schools like the Art Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design, etc. Not that those aren't good programs, just that it's a very different sort of environment. I would try to find a smaller, well known art school that has a good number of classes in all of...
Hassan: not much home slice, just got the day off so I thought I'd make the rounds at some of the forums I don't spend much time at anymore. Hey, just remembered: I'll be in your neck of the woods later this summer! Got any recommended vacation / kick-back destinations in Wales for me? For a photographer that place looks pretty cool. BTW, why is Wales divided on the map like it's a separate country, yet it has no country status on the table with all the flags and such....
Long time no visit... Hope those among the old guard (those I'm familiar with IOW) are well. Just thought I'd pop in to see what's new around here. I see the political outsider forum has not yet imploded into nothingness... congratulations. Fellows I haven't seen any photography of yours in a long time (I recall you used to shoot some nice landscapes and macro stuff), post any photo threads recently? What about Artman, anyone seen that guy around (under a new name...
ICAN-Mac "The new ICAN-Mac... who needs electrons when you've got antimatter? warning: ICAN-Mac may be unstable. If your ICAN-Mac and desk disappear, use the included CERN hotline for assistance." http://www.engr.psu.edu/antimatter/images/ICAN-312.jpg
An utter disgrace. Truly. If they allowed the servicing mission to go forward (even with robots, which would delay the mission), Hubble could give us another 5-10 years of incredible discoveries and useful knowledge about the cosmos. This is just another way of sticking our heads in the sand. It's what Bush does best. Can't say I'm surprised though. He's starting to cut all kinds of programs, all in order to avoid that horrible, unbearable possibility that Americans in...
Perhaps 23-year-old men are just not meant to work with 50+-year-old women. The thought crossed my mind once or twice when I was working corporate in my 20s. I don't think *anyone* is meant to work with 50+ year old women, except other 50+ year old women.
