My battery was in during most of this, so that's probably related. Battery seems happy as a clam, though, 4 green lights and charging.   Good thing I was just refurbishing it for life as a take-around. I had no real idea what I was going to do with it, anyway.
I had my A1260 MacBook Pro open to install an SSD. That went beautifully. Re-installed the OS and got it up and going, fast and beautiful.   Filled with confidence, I decided to check out then oisy fan that had been making noise. Took the fan apart, cleaned it, greased it, replaced it. Booted fine.   Before I closed and screwed-in the case completely, I noticed that one of the screw heads was loose so I disconnected the keyboard again, moved it out of the way,...

Giving it to the bartender is a stupid idea. The bartender has no more legal right to the device than the finder. Gizmodo purchased a weird device that might have been a prototype iPhone or might have been some elaborate fake. How could Gizmodo know that it was "real" (whatever "real" means) without Apple contacting them and confirming it? There is not a snowball's chance in hell that Apple could prove in a court of law that Gizmodo knew it was purchasing a legit Apple...

dmz:Give me some examples of these “research” papers.I provided a direct link to a relevant text written by archaeologists who have spent decades in the field. You provide personal attacks and condescension. The issue at hand is your reliance on false statements.False statement from dmz #1: There is an “original text” and/or a “received text”.The truth: The best we have are copies of copies.False statement from dmz #2: There are no contradictions in the Bible, and if there...
What does this sentence mean?No one forced you to claim, falsely, that we had any "original text" or even a "received text".Account for it? What does this even mean? There were people around that had a lot of group mythologies to explain unanswered questions. Just like at every other point in documented human history. What is meant by that last "they"?Essentially, your point is this: We know for a fact that some stuff was said a long time ago and has been preserved to some...
Even if we take that statement as true, which we need not, I do not see what this has to do with my point, which is that it is dishonest to say that there is any "original text" available for the Bible. There isn't. We have, at absolute best, very old copies of copies of copies. And at every step along the way, from the very old copies of copies, there are alterations (purposeful or accidental). To argue that there is an "original text" is factually inaccurate. And the...
That's some fucking major league pouting there, dmz. There is no "original text"."Oldest copy" is not "original text".
The MS Tablet looks fucking awesome in that mock-up. Lots of UI magic, though, smoke and mirrors.
