Is there a way to get the songs off the ipod manually ( without deleting them) once you put them on there? I mean its basically a HD, but when you open it up on the desktop the music files are hidden. My reason being I want to back up my mp3's and reformat the ipod as mac format instead of the win format, which it currently is ( I bought it used). Any suggestions or is it even possible?
ramseeker.com I ordered some for G3 there. works fine
Hey guys , heres my problem, just bought a Lacie external dvdrw/cdrw burner and it wont burn discs, I get this error message , even when trying to burn a small kb file. "the drive reported an error: Sense key=Hardware Error Sense Code= 0x08, 0x03 LOGICAL UNIT COMMUNICATIONS FAILURE" The drive can read discs fine and play a dvd, but wont burn via Toast 6.0.7, via FWire. Im running a BW G3, 300 mhz, 1GB ram, 10.3.6. Im guessing my HD drive speed isint fast enough...
well what I was referring to,( which you probably know) was responsiveness of menus and scaling windows, scrolling through web pages, opening windows/ folders basically. However OS9 pales, and is a joke, in comparison to X in regards to stability/ crashing & freezing, memory management etc.
Anyone know of the new features in LH that might rival it against OSX, however I know by the time it's released OSX will be at another version with new tricks up its sleeve as well. Of the pics I've seen of it, its really utilizing the whole transparency whiz bang stuff..more eye candy for Win users....ape-ing OSX obviously. Other stuff Ive seen it's got some pretty cool graphic functions with particular software. But not much else to...
Yep, I agree quite ignorant. As for Linux, If I wasn't a mac user Id be running that. Well..on second thought, I guess I sorta am running a variation of unix/linux..anyhow I have a feeling we'll see some new speeds this Jan on either a PM or possibly the laptop line...who know though.
LOL! no kidding!.. M$ engineers are fools to say that is what will be needed to run Shlonghorn..1 TB of HD space , just to run the OS..jeezus.
After you install search for ".lproj" files and delete the ones that aren't english. you'll free up some HD space.
Yes Panther runs quite well on my B&W G3 powermac. It is only 300mhz but I maxed out the ram to 1gb so THAT really helps! Ram really helps older macs run OSX better, that and a faster HD. I installed 10.3 on my housemates 500mhz iMac but she had just 128mb of ram on it, and got the evil spinning beach-ball icon a shit load. If she were to have say 512 of ram Im sure it would have run way better, so I ended up just removing it since it was hindering her productivity.
That is a solution, however I have the same issue of downloading some images off the web and or email attachments, and OSX saves them without the actual picture preview just the generic 'preview' icon app pic. The weird thing in PS is that if you save as " jpeg" PS creates an actual icon pic thumbnail, but if you save for web "jpg" it creates a PS icon and no preview of the actual pic, even when in the column view in OSX. Kinda odd?
