Maybe so. But the product was not priced or positioned correctly IMHO. Plus Apple broke from their habit of keeping last years model around when introducing this years. Why not just keep the 5 around? Why the multi-colors? Most users use a case anyway to customize the device. Apple even sells a colored case for their colored phone
Apple had an outstanding quarter, but they left money on the table in my opinion. Case in point. Instead of a larger handset, which some user prefer, they went with a multi-colored version of last year's iPhone. Had they actually listened to the market Apple could have easily shipped 55+ handsets. That's my $.02...
Admit that the 5c was a mistake. Fix it and move on...
Dell just announced both a 24" and 32" 4K displays. These should both work fine with an a MacPro since these monitors both use Mini-DisplayPort. http://www.dell.com/learn/us/en/uscorp1/secure/2013-12-2-dell-ultrasharp-ultra-hd-monitors
It may be that he only uses the iPad for web-surfing, reading and/or watching videos. It's probably still on a secure wifi or broadband network. No email, messaging, or VoIP-video chat...
Yea. You wouldn't think the rollout of the ACA would be such a cluster because of this, but an election campaign and a government agency are very different animals. Campaigns can hire the 'best and brightest' and use whatever technology they see fit to accomplish the task. Government agencies must follow Federal procurement laws and use 'approved' standards. It's one thing for people to listen in on a call you make to a potential voter and something altogether different...
The issue is not strictly the device, but the security of networks that the device utilizes. Early on, RIM developed it's back end servers to meet the security needs of service providers, corporations, and government agencies. RIM also has it's own Mobile Device Management (MDM) software and the services which encrypt all communications. Apple and Google rely on 3rd parties for many of these functions. iOS and Android can both be made 'secure' but not to the highest levels...
The Dell XPS 15 is similar in price, performance, and screen resolution. Like Apple, Dell's XPS 15 also carries a hefty price tag for a discrete GPU. Of course, the biggest advantage, of the rMBP 15 is Mavericks vs. the absolutely horrid Windows 8...
Mail on iOS is severely lacking too. Why they don't initiate a bulk mail folder for spam is beyond me. Anyone have experience with Air Mail on MacOSX? Apple's email clients have always been extremely weak IMHO...
Tablets are not replacing PC's so much as they are lengthening the PC upgrade cycle from 3-5 years to 5-7 years. Enterprises, many of which recently migrated from XP to Win7, are steering clear of Win8. Not only is it too soon for another OS upgrade, but Windows 8 is a significant burden on IT which has to deal with users. XP to Win7 is a no brainer. Win7 to Win8 is a no-go...
