Is there a chance that Apple pushed he envelope on purpose here? I'm sure they are not happy with not meeting demand so long after release. However, I wonder if they are working toward an Apple TV with many of the style and manufacture elements of the iMac. Maybe they pushed, so they could work out the kinks before going to an even bigger display.
I just got a 27" iMac and, yes, they are just wonderful.  It is amazing how much better the screen is when placed next to my 23" cinema display.  I thought that cinema display was awesome when I got it, what a difference a few years makes.
Although iMac sales do affect Apple's bottom line, they are nowhere close to the importance of the iPhone or iPads to overall sales. Thus, suggestion that this story can somehow turn the tide on the stock is far fetched.
Arrived today, 2 days earlier than Apple suggested in their shipping e-mail. Performing brain transplant from old Mac. Screen look very nice, as does the svelt body.
Just got shipping notice on a 27" ordered Dec. 8th.
iPads are great but there is so much you can't do with them.  Most of my work happens on an iMac, my fun happens on an iPad.
I would like to know how one can have hundreds of patents on a single type of technology? Are they counting countries, with one patent each?
Thank you Steve for everything you have given us, you made your dent.
Let me add that I use iDisk across a number of older computers and laptops that still have life left in them. The new iCloud appears like it will only work with Macs running the latest OS. My older machines can't even upgrade to the new OS (G4 chips).
This is turning out to be another one of those many times as an Apple user that decisions by Apple are going to force me to fix something that isn't broke. I use, on a near daily basis, most of the services being cut from MoMe. I just uploaded a large PDF, too large to e-mail, so my colleague could access it. I use iWeb and MoMe to host my site. I sync my keychains etc across all my computers. Bummer bummer bummer.
