The Gizmodo review is actually pretty negative. They clearly like W8 better. I do as well, but I can't give Giz any credit because they've been anti-Apple ever since Apple smacked them down for the iPhone 4 leak.

I believe Google is saying, in a roundabout way, that the patent system is terribly broken, and is stifling innovation.
For the people saying Google should get out of the business, keep dreaming. If it wasn't for Android, iOS6 wouldn't have new maps, notifications, NFC, larger screen, and a bunch of other things innovated on Android. Competition is good, and since Android is the #1 smartphone platform, Apple clearly has some competing to do.
I've been using Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud solution and I like it a lot. Right now I have my entire Document, Music, Pictures, and Movie folders automatically syncing to the cloud which I can access via iPhone app or any Mac/PC web browser. As far as I can tell, it's vastly superior to iCloud.
I've had a DOT ME email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) for several years now, but can't use it with iCloud (without setting up a convoluted forwarding scheme) because iCloud doesn't support custom domains. Forget the fact that Google and Microsoft have offered this FREE for years.
