Sorry, if you have a CDMA phone and never leave the US, that's fine.. Otherwise, gotta deal with reality.
"LOCK" does NOT refer to a contract. "LOCK" refers to a eprom LOCK code that is done by a carrier that a phone is capable of supporting as their primary. When I bought a phone in France it was "Locked" to Orange and they gave me an "UNLOCK" so I could use that phone in the US - NOT on Orange... Sorry... AND "locking" is EXTREMELY UN-POPULAR EVERYWHERE ON THE PLANET - even in the US.
Ya know, the thing that drives me goofy about American carriers is their astounding arrogance AND the basic gutless consumer that allows clowns like AT&T (actually SBC) to "...bracing itself for the loss in iPhone exclusivity that it has seen coming for some time, working to lock existing iPhone 4 buyers into two year contracts and relying upon family and business plans that make it hard for individuals to leave the carrier." WTF !!! "LOCK EXISTING iPhone4 customers"...
Hummm... I thought Canadians were actually smarter than average, generally, but it seems like they actually need the same lessons in PLAYBACK of digital recordings or of ANYTHING that gets posted on computers in one place being available in other places.. amazing how that whole network thing works... So RIM - HERE - is saying "No worries about battery life - we're fine and even better than everyone else"... Well, take a brief moment to go half-way around the planet...
Cluster-Fox for the iPad...how quaint.. I'll pass on the neo-nutbag propaganda.
AppleInsider-After Research in Motion beat Wall Street expectations with its quarterly earnings Thursday, co-CEO Jim Balsillie asserted on the company's earnings call that the upcoming PlayBook 7-inch tablet is way ahead of Apple's iPad. After reading thru some of the comments (I especially like the "Balmer-Lite" comparison), the one thing that seems to slip Balsillie's virtual BS is one small FACT....PlayBook hasn't even shipped yet! That makes Balsillie a STAND-ALONE...
Last time I looked, this was called Market Manipulation. AND, was covered as a FEDERAL CRIME.... Humm...guess tech guys can do anything they want now days if the money is right....
Does it surprise anyone, really, that WP7 will probably fold in less time than did Kin..!! Microshaft does NOT understand the competition model in the smartphone world and how there is LESS TOLERANCE with vendor screw ups and mis-steps than in any market they have ever been in... Because they have 'dominate' the desktop and laptop market for so many years they have grown complacent or worse yet, just don't understand what they have to do DIFFERENTLY in this mobile...
Ahh.... Deal with the devil himself... IF anyone is stupid enough to sign up with a Murdoch-based ANYTHING is fundamentally at odds with the rest of the world's technology direction. Murdoch is in this for two reasons 1) Money 2) CONTROL of as much of the message as can be bought, stolen, pried, bamboozled, or made up as can possibly be had for whatever the price. This will be true manipulation. And the order of 1 & 2 above is NOT an indication of Rupe's...
Ads banging on ATT because of iPhone - you got a better idea, also ran??? Gonna put some iPhone on that renamed 3g slush pit you got t-mumble to add some speed..??? T-Mobile stores selling iPhone stuff because of European customers coming into a T-Mumble store to get a cable for their iPhone..Really??? NOT... IF you want to share in the iPhone movement, then instead of trying to side-swipe the carrier and the consumers knowledge, just ask Apple to give you a cut?? WHY...
