Will one of these two formats die already, and soon, so that I can get a player and some films. I think I'll be sticking with good ole DVDs for a while yet...
There is always a blemish or two, but this time 'round, the refs understood off-sides. And all the crying about dives is really just that, the refs did a good job, with the one Portuguese game the only glaring exception. Not so sure about that, the manager's job is never easy. He took a lot of heat for playing Ronaldo, but Ronaldo was far from the least effective man on the pitch. Ronaldinho wasted countless possessions, and he would be counted amongst that younger...
Well, history is always a good teacher, Zizou got 5 games for a similar incedent a few years back. As for the rest, doubt me not, from this thread:3 of my picks in the final 4, all in the final 8, and the correct first round exits. I should have put some money down, but inevitably that would have led to a different outcome...
I'm sometimes amazed that it seems people are watching entirely different games than the ones shown on TV??? Italy was the better team in the first half, not France. France was better in the second. Split for the OT halves too. France scores on dubious penalty call to open. Lippi chooses same starting 11 despite contradictory evidence from previous matches, Camaronese and Totti shouldn't have started, IMHO, and maybe Toni got too much time, or not enough help, or...
This is why I say "if", I'm increasingly less convinced that any of the alternatives are better than penalty shots, with the exception of the golden goal. Personally, I see nothing wrong with having both sides play untill somebody just wins the game. If TV broadcasting and commercials would allow for it, then I think that playing untill a goal is scored is the way to go. Those of us who've enjoyed 6 or 7 periods of overtime hockey know how entertaining that can be!
I've said this before. If we want to avoid penalties as the tie-breaker, we might try golden-goal overtime, but with no linesmen... No offsides in OT. OT wouldn't last 15 minutes, the attacking team will either score right away or get burned pinching...
It's obvious that Canon has the best sensors right now. Or, I should say best overall combination of sensor and processing. But this is neither here nor there in many cases. In similarly priced cameras, D200 and 30D, there's little to give between competently exposed shots, at any ISO. When disecting image quality people should think about display size, whether that's electronic or print. Resized monitor viewing, will make many a camera just about equal anywhere from...
Except in Brasil's case it may actually be true. They're the only country I can think of that could field their entire second team and still be a contender to make the final. That said, they won't win it this year. European teams will play with something to prove after their universally poor showing in Japan/Korea last time round, and the refs will call a style of play more suited to their tactics, ie, physical, and with an actual understanding of tackles and off-sides....
A new eMac would be remarkably simple to do. Take one integrated Intel Mobo, and drop it into a 17" iMac case with smaller HDD, less RAM, no iSight, a combo drive. Leave the integrated I/O alone, since this is now a part of even the most affordable Intel designs, price it at 699 in VOLUME, to edu buyers exclusively, and call it a day. No special work is required. As for the 17" iMac. It's time for that puppy to hit 999. It's a very nice design, but the standard...
And completely unnecessary with the CTRL key about 3" away on either side of the track pad.
