Apple backs down on CSAM features, postpones launch
When the response is "We wish that this had come out a little more clearly for everyone because we feel very positive and strongly about what we're doing, and we can see that it's been widely misunderstood," you see that they just don't get it.It is not how the message was delivered, it was the message itself. -
HomePod is sold out, but isn't dead yet - Apple's 'end of life' explained
JWSC said:This article misses the boat a bit because most of us know that Apple will not discontinue support for the HomePod anytime soon. What is disconcerting is Apple’s decision to cancel it does leave one with the impression that Apple is rudderless with regard to product development and support. Apple does not appear to have a “product champion” assigned as an owner to each of their products. That’s bad news when the VP of hardware engineer in clearly has his eye elsewhere.
That kind of mistrust does not bode well for buying an Apple Car. Why in the hell would I EVER consider buying a car from a company I think my abandon it in 5 years? I wouldn't!

Australian banks call alternatives to NFC 'unrealistic' in fight to avoid using Apple Pay
Same old story. Resist, resist, resist, relent. What a stupid argument, to demand Apple let competitors use their phones NFC for inferior and insecure systems. There is a reason those competitors are not succeeding. Maybe the banks should open up their bank vaults and let them be used by competitors. -
Apple's first million HomePods now shipping from Inventec - report
jsmythe00 said:Glad they are back on schedule. Sadly though, I don't see this product being successful. I think they priced themselves out the market.
I don't get apple sometimes. Airpods are GREAT. What made them even greater is they priced them extremely compettitve. Same with the iPad. Apple watch was slightly overpriced. But this...it's a crippled device at premium price.

CVS continues Apple Pay snub, launches barcode-based 'CVS Pay'
justanoldhorse said:I loved ApplePay when it first came out. As things would happen, I was late paying my American Express bill. The card use was suspended for a few days. AP said the card could no longer be used as it was no longer valid. I waited two weeks after my card was working again and my AP still reported the card invalid. Well, darn. I sure don't need to fiddle with my phone when my credit card is right here in my hand.
Apple is is making money with Apple Pay. It's not a free service. It should work properly and efficiently. I am sure others have had the same issue. Hey, I keep asking why the Contacts app doesn't have familiarity fill-in? So, bottom line, if AP works for you that's nice. For me it's clunky and not worth the bother. I still have to carry my credit cards. OK, I'm used to it. -

Apple One will manage users with multiple Apple IDs, but questions remain

The problem I run into is regarding the requirement for the same credit card on a Family Share account. I was considering adding my adult daughter and my in-laws to the Family Share, but everyone wants the freedom to manage their own payments for the music, books, and apps they want separately because they don't want me paying for everything (aren't they nice?), and dealing with reimbursement is a bother. Now that the Apple One bundles are coming, I'll have to think a little more about this.
Anyone else have experience with that? -
