Apple places 5th on corporate reputation poll, Samsung drops 42 spots
I often order things from Amazon, but I know someone who holds a patent on an electronic accessory, and lately there are loads of Chinese knock offs on the site. He hired a lawyer to demand Amazon stop selling them, and the response he received was that it wasn't up the Amazon to decide who held what patent, and that he should pursue the makers in Chinese courts. Obviously that won't stand a chance to be successful. So Amazon just keeps collecting their share. -

Apple rolls out improved Apple Maps for Australia
entropys said:The lockdowns did reduce deaths to way below deaths from the flu in a normal season.
It isn’t as simple as that though as life must go on.How many small business owners have lost their life savings, how many people with mental health or worse, suicides have been exacerbated by this approach? Do these deaths that have actually happened outnumber those extra that might have died from Covid with a more open approach? We will never know, and public health officials will shy away from looking at it, but best not be too quick to think we did the best out of a wide range of unpalatable choices.
I would also observe that Australia has quite a few geographical, climate and lifestyle differences that would always result in better outcomes than colder climes. Even within Australia, it is no coincidence that locations like Melbourne with a colder climate, higher density and it must be said different ethnic demographics and cultural differences are more vulnerable than Brisbane. No doubt, public servants and those that work for large corporations have had a very good Covid as a result of these lockdowns, but that is not the case for everyone.
best to consider the costs as well as the benefits of any approach.
The stats for suicides are not up. Stock market is rolling along. Most of all, the death toll is minimal, unlike what has happened in the US, where I lost multiple friends, all parents to young children. -
Colbert's 'Late Show' skewers cost, content of Apple's new design book
Personally, I purchased the book as soon as it went on sale, and I had to make arrangements in another country as it isn't available in Canada. I don't see the issue with it's existence. Is this the reason there is no Mac Pro update? I doubt it. Ive isn't the first person around Apple to have a vanity project if you see it like that. -

Apple launches $350 Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones with W1 chip, improved noise cancel...
I don't really understand all the comments about Beats being for kids and someone saying that they are for Android users.
I'm in my mid 40's and I have several pairs of Beats, as do most of my friends and co-workers who are my age. We all use iPhones as well. I travel a lot, and always come across the same thing, so I'm not sure why there is a stereotype on here for kids headphones. My Father and his friends all use Bose or B&O but they are in their 70's and can't handle a drop of bass on anything, along with sticking to a long term brand they believe in.
If there is a perception that Beats are for kids, I think that is only a that. -
