  • Repair experts weigh in on AirPods Max condensation complaints

I bought the headphones as soon as they were released. I am in Australia.  They are the best headphones I have ever used and I have had a number of high end headphones, some in excess of $4K

The ear cups accumulated condensation after extended period of use.  Eventually they failed to connect or alternatively connected and the produced crackling noises.

Well anyway, we have quite progressive and reasonable Consumer Law here in Australia.  After over two years and outside Apple's warranty period, because of the higher cost (part of the consumer law) Apple tested the cans, confirmed that they weren't working and replaced them without further trouble.  My warranty period starts again under the law.

So I am more than happy with the phones and Apple's response.

  • Philips Hue to introduce new bulbs in September

I always thought this Philips Hue stuff was a major wank.

But hey, about a year ago I bought one of the lights for a "give it a try...mate".

What a shocker.  I know have 40 various Hue lights around and in my house !!  Brilliant stuff just brilliant !

The best ones are the 10 garden lights that go up my driveway.

Hey, does anyone know how I can I make them turn on one after the other as I motor up the driveway?   Or even change colour as I drive up the drive way.?

Like the internal space ship lights in one of those sci-fi movies.

  • Facebook will drop ban on news pages in Australia

News Corp owns 70% of print media in Oz, and 100% in my home state. All this is about the government paying back Murdoch for winning them the last election.
    How flaming ignorant!

Even if this comment is true, the Australian Federal Government's dispute with Fakebook and Giggle, was all about on-line news, NOT print media ... doh!  The Fakebook and Giggle gorillas have been pinching (i.e. steeling) quality journalists work, having that news being displayed on their sites like it is theirs and not paying for the stuff.

Hey, why don't you let me go into your garage take your car and drive it around town hanging out the windows like it's mine !!  But I think there is a law about that ??

  • Classical musicians review AirPods Max

Forget all the techno claptrap and mambo jumbo.

I have headphones costing many thousands of $$.  I currently have eight different head sets.

AirPods Max are THE best set of cans for sound quality and clarity that I have ever had. And I’ve been listening to music on quality headphones for over 30 years!

  • ACCC denies Australian banks to collectively bargain, boycott over Apple Pay

The 4 big banks in Australia are an oligopoly.  A big gorilla with too much hair!!  Arseholes !!  At least the ACCC is finally doing its work.

Now Apple do your work and get this stuff rolling down here !!

Still got my 7110 with the spring loaded slide.  Use it as a backup phone next to my iPhone X.

  • Ring's app caught spying on users, sharing data with third-parties

Tried August, but was not going to pay a regular rent check to some company to keep my private video data on their servers.  I will certainly not trust Google (are you kidding me) Amazon or anyone else with my private info.

This is my solution.  It's a bit more expensive up front, built out of solid metal, with a great lens and lots of features, by one of the early leaders in IP cameras, is infinitely configurable and works with MY server.

  • Unreleased Black iPod Hi-Fi photos reveals an alternative color scheme

Yep, I've got one too that is still going strong attached to an AirPort Express with the Airplay 2 firmware.

And yes, for the price it is one of the best speakers I have had and I have had a lot of speakers including stuff that cost more than $10k.

Pity it was discontinued and was not developed further.
