  • Review: Apple's new wireless AirPods put a smile on 2016

I've heard that Airpods don't work so hot, where the bluetooth signal doesn't benefit from walls to bounce around.
I've taken two hour-long walks outside while playing music, and I have noticed a few momentary dropouts. But they've all been less than a second interruptions. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. My guess is that most bluetooth headsets wouldn't perform any better. And being able to double-tap the ear bud and ask Siri to play anything in my library is kind of cool.

  • New Apple vids show how to enable heart alerts & fall detection for Apple Watch Series 4

It's not there in any form. This appears to be the case with many of the faces Apple uses in its ads.
On your iPhone, go to the Watch app and click on the "Face Gallery" tab on the bottom of the screen. You'll see all of the available faces there. You probably just don't have it in the "My Watch" tab yet.

  • iPhone 15 Pro Max lands with 5x optical zoom, faster USB-C

I'm using the 14 Pro now, and am going to up at 5 am this Friday to order the 15 Pro Max for the cameras alone. In between the cash back I've accumulated in my Apple Card account, and the trade-in value of my current 14 Pro, I'll be paying $0 out of pocket for the upgrade. So it's pretty much a no-brainer for me. I'm sorry so many here seem to be underwhelmed. But the cameras are pretty much all I care about in a new phone. And this update ticks a lot of boxes for me, and will allow me to start unloading some of my "traditional" digital camera lenses on eBay. Too bad they couldn't fit the periscope camera into the regular Pro model. But I'll manage to live with the bigger size.

  • A month with Apple's AirPods: a long-term video review

"The case is surprisingly small and barely noticed when carrying in the pocket."

No kidding. I managed to forget the case was in my pocket this weekend, and washed it (and the pods) in the washing machine with all of my clothes. D'oh! To my surprise and delight, I put them in a Tupperware with some rice to dry them out, and 24 hours later they're fully functional and apparently unharmed. And really, really clean.  :p

  • Improving on Apple: alternatives to iCloud's 5GB of free space

"Maybe one day Apple will give us more than 5GB space without charging heavily..."

Heavily? Seriously? 99 cents per month for 5 GB of storage seems like a
fantastic bargain to me. But then, it would never occur to me that I might need to access a 20 GB video on all of my devices all of the time.

  • Apple behind Microsoft, Google, Intel, Samsung in reputation survey

The fact that Harley Davidson is in the top five has me dismissing this "rating".  It immediately puts to question exactly how this rating was compiled.
Why?  Harley-Davidson is a very well known and respected brand that has been in business way longer than Apple.  Their motorcycles are owned by people who are passionate about the brand.  I myself would have them on the wish list if I were to buy a motorcycle.
No doubt some people are passionate about their Harleys. But most of them are chaps-wearing posers, who seem to believe that straddling a loud, gas-guzzling paint shaker on wheels gives them some sort of street cred. And most other riders, including me, just shake our heads when we encounter them. Harley Davidson is currently on the brink of insolvency, and they have nothing of any value in the pipepline to offer. The fact that H-D appears in any list of companies with a good reputation makes this "survey" comically irrelevant.

  • Editorial: Apple Card invites you to join a premium, private club

“Some significant percentage of Apple's vast installed base of affluent users are going to be crushing down substances and cutting lines with it.“

Would you you please translate that sentence into English, so that the rest of us can understand what you’re saying?
