Home Office A couple months back my wife got a new macbook and I took her old iMac. I have a unibody macbook pro so I don't really need a desktop but it is handy to leave on 24/7 for downloading, using the remote application on our phones (we have …

Yes you can use them. As far as any additional buttons on the keyboard go you would most likely be able to download a mac version of the software the keyboard/mouse website.

I had a user drop a black macbook (last edition) with the stock hard drive and the drive was dead, it would spin up but wouldn't anything. Replacement cost was minimal but the user was out of a computer for a day.

Depending on your definition. I used to use a mighty mouse at my office and it would go through cheap batteries about once everything 6 weeks and good ones about every 3 months. That is with being at the computer 10 hours a day less meetings and lun…

I put 4GB RAM in the first MBP released and it showed 4GB.

Yes, you can print without wires but you have to have a wireless print or have it connected to a print server (or device with that capability like an airport). If you buy an airport for example you can plug the printer into that and print wireles…

Other than USB do you have to printer plugged into a print server or a device with a built-in print server?

sfbags.com - design 15-3. I have purchased from them for past computers and my new MBP 15" and love the quality of the cases. On top of that customer service is amazing.

Here is my updated setup. I originally posted in post 36 of this thread, I no longer work from home and scaled down a bit.

I have never had it happen when returns from complete sleep, but the times it did happen was when the monitor only was asleep.

I spoke too soon, this happened to me today, not when waking it up from complete sleep but when just the monitor went to sleep. The ACD would come up with fuzz, then blink off and on every minute with fuzz each time. Unplugged and replugging the mon…

It is more difficult than the last, but only be a few screws. I believe you just unscrew the bottom panel and replace it, doesn't like longer than a few minutes. The ram is still user replaceable so it still won't void your warranty ... those the ne…

No, it will only print. That is a good point, if you are looking that functionality you need to find one with built-in wireless.

I purchased one from sfbags.com for my new MBP, model 15-3 sleevecase. I have used their sleeves in the past and have always liked them. On top of the quality of the cases, their customer service is fantastic.

I have a new MBP and haven't had any issues. The hinge is looser than the older macbooks and powerbooks ... that is little tough to get used to. I used to set the computer against my knees in bed watching a movie (at about 45 degrees) and I can't do…

If it is just word file a flash drive will probably do the trick. A hard drive would be fine but would be much larger and possibly over kill for word files (assuming you don't have ten of thousands of them). The last posted is correct, it will ne…

You will probably find that you are paying for portability with the macbook pro. I use a recent iMac and the current MBP and interchange the two and notice similar speeds. It will probably boil down whether you want to spend the extra money for the …
