  • Editorial: The future of Apple's Macintosh

I think what Apple is missing in it's thinking is the total eco-system. Phone, tablet, laptop, desktop integration. I use all 4 platforms for home and work use (currently all Mac's). And help manage 3 2012 mac mini servers that replaced our xServes. (plus have 2 brand new 2012 mini servers still in the box as replacements.) There are still major programs that require windows to run. Solidworks and to connect to accounting MRP software like Sage500. If the processing power and memory (laptops) doesn't get with the program for both desktops and laptops then I will consider switching to the dark side. I spend to much time in the dark side via Parallels as it is. Once I switch laptops and desktops, I will be less compelled to buy the latest iPhone or latest iPad and would even consider switching those devices as well. What I am trying to say is they risk loosing customers for their highly profitable iPhones and iPads by letting the laptops and desktops languish in IMHO.
