  • Beyond Rosetta 2 for Intel apps, 'Apple Silicon' Macs will run iPhone, iPad apps natively

What does Apple mean when they say, “ expects the overall transition to ARM will complete in about two years.”

Are they meaning that all apps will be native, or that they will have it figured out in two years?

The numbers would be different if Apple would still sign iOS 10.
No kidding.  I hate 11.  Apple annoys you into upgrading.  I finally turned it off on my iPhone 7plus and stayed at 10 - yeah no throttling for me.
What do you do with your 7+ that it already gets throttled?
I have a 7 and have been using the hell out of it for a little over a year now, both work and play. Even with iOS 11 and its smaller battery haven’t once experienced any shutdowns or slowdowns.
6s user here... no slowdown with the latest version iOS running here...

  • Apple discontinues (Product)Red iPhone 7, ups iPad Pro pricing

I can’t recall the last time that Apple actually RAISED prices, mid-cycle. That just seems rather odd for Apple.
I can recall... they raised the RAM prices on the Mac ll and Mac llx prices mid cycle. To avoid the increase I bought 16k of RAM for $899... wooee, what a steal!

  • iPhone X with 3D camera appears to support 'animoji' capturing facial expressions in iOS 1...

This seems like an overly simplistic explanation, but here goes:

If you can't think of a good use for it, then it's probably not for you/us.

I don't need this feature, and I'm willing to bet that AI readers as a whole don't. However, while I think animoji are unnecessary for me, I think it’ll be a phone selling feature, heavily pushed by Apple for the iPhone crowd, and will be sought after by the masses.
I think it's even more than that. Think about it. Apple has harnessed emojis this way before recently; yes the touch bar. Apple are world class at laying down technological tracks and getting people to slowly adopt at a natural pace. Emoji is just a super simple tool Apple can use to demo their concepts. They don't have to concept a new app or anything to get their point across. It's something that everyone is instantly familiar with. So it might be a selling point for the masses in that way. Bonus for Apple. But it's the devs apple is really after, and it's the devs that see past the emoji to what can really be done. Apple has some pretty good ideas about what the tech can do, but they're willing to bet the devs will be able to take care of some of it for them. And the people slowly adopt.
The Japanese buyers will be all over the animojis... maybe the Chinese too, but the Japanese for sure!

  • Siri has commanding lead in users over Google Assistant, Samsung S Voice in the US

I trigger Siri a dozen times to get her to understand me once... I look forward to the "new and improved" Siri this fall, especially with Barbara Eden's voice...
