Panther videos

(in case you guys here haven't seen 'em yet)

Here's a video of Panther's Exposé feature on a dual G5, taken with Snapz Pro X 2.0:

http://www.AmbrosiaSW.com/news/upcom...her_expose.mov (9mb)

Here's another video taken with Snapz Pro X 2.0, of Panther's Exposé feature, but in slow motion. This was recorded on an older dual 1ghz G4:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/upcom...ose_slowmo.mov (4.8mb)

...and finally, a third Snapz Pro X 2.0 video, this time of using drag-and-drop with Exposé:

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/upcom...xpose_drag.mov (1.9mb)

Here's a pretty cool video I recorded today showing Panther's "Fast User Switching" capabilities. The framerate of the movie is 30fps, compressed with MPEG4 (medium quality), and scaled down 50%.

http://www.ambrosiasw.com/news/upcom...userswitch.mov (1mb)

I don't know what's nicer: expose and fast user switching or Snapz Pro 2!

Because I thought some people might be interested in viewing these videos of Panther - not everyone has Panther yet, and the screenshots just don't do it justice.

Sorry if you are bothered by it.

I loved them and I even have Panther. Not only that, the music gets big props. OK, I'm not a fan of Bono, but the Terrapin & Echoes get a thums up.

Thanks -- but the first song is actually Jane's Addiction ("Just Because") -- agreed re: Floyd and the Dead.

And here's a fairly modest demo on an ancient dual 500 G4.

Yeah, yeah, no sound. I didn't want to disturb my sleeping roommate.

I Panther.

Geesh, be quiet! Even though I do have Panther I don't use the "Fast User Switching" feature since I am the only user on my computer. It was nice to see another video of the action. Thanks for the videos fellow Rochesterian.

Wow! A U2 cover of Just Because would be interesting.

Sorry for the digression, nice movies.

Yeah. I just unplugged my second monitor, and still no cube effect. No big deal though. It's not something I really need anyway. Curious as to why it doesnt work though.

Hi!

I registered here just to say WOW and thanks Moki for posting those amazing videos of Expose! I think Apple just created the justification for shipping a multi-button mouse with all Macs! Expose can too easily be dismissed as eye-candy by Windows bigots who think that Alt-Tab works fine, too. They have NO IDEA how Expose can improve your workflow.

Thanks again!

You wouldn't have a different display resolution for the two users, would you? That'll do it.

Yes, they are actually 2 different displays with different resolutions (which I asumed was the problem), but even when I unplugged the second monitor, I do not get the effect. I do get it though with my two 22" Lacies at work. I just found it odd that my home computer wont do it, though it does not really bother me since it's a useless effect anyway.

Sour grapes? I was mearly explaining my situation And then stating it was no big deal to me to see the effect working correctly. Especially since my work computer does it fine. It's just that I thought it was odd that it was not working at home. How is that sour grapes?

Child? I'm 30

I'm confused

No, no! I was kidding! Eugene is a member on this board who had his period of idiocy recently and called everyone "child" in very condescending posts that we dare not speak of. His posting style is of that I just imitated.

Nothing against you at all! Just an AppleInsider joke. And I'm the real child, so I shouldn't be talking.

Eugene: Please don't kill me.
