Take the pledge

"I promise to install and even use, via dual boot and/or virtualization, the Windows operating system, should I be in need of a program that only runs on that platform or is vastly superiour to that available on the Mac or if I want to play a game that doesn´t exist for Macs. For my computer loyalty belong to my user experience and productivity and not any company, now and forever, amen"

Post here if you take the pledge.

Here here old chum!

What does 'meh' mean?

Fanboys will diss on OLED displays--until the iPhone gets one. And get one it will. I have always loved them. Always! Daylight crap, blah!

You're supporting your thread premise with a broken link, so I guess that is a "Meh".

Your link is broken, is this what you where refering to?

If it is... ya... some Mac users just can't see the big picture. I would pledge except that I don't engage in such rituals.

Fuck that, I will keep my trusty (and somewhat dusty) 1.5ghz compaq around...for a few weeks, untill I graduate and do not need the educational software anymore, then it gets a tuner and either WMC or (more likly) mythTV.

wow, between that, the new job(fingers crossed on thatone) and the new macbook pro in my future, assuming the job pans out, its shaping up to be a fun geek-summer

Wow, just wow. I read the linked thread and some of the comments there are just weak.

Being able to dual boot into Windows when necessary is a boon to those of use who haven't been able to justify a Mac for use in many Windows-only environments. I'm still a bigger fan of virtualization but both solutions have merit and I can't see making some ridiculous pledge not to use some of the utility the new Macs now offer out of some overzealous loyalty to Apple.

Users like that are what make Windows camp think we're psychotic zealots .

I take the pledge to boot into Windows if I really need to in order to get work done without having to use two machines.

edit - there *were* some reasonable, level-headed replies there but many were just painful.

The linked article is definitely weak... the author's idea of what mac users are makes me angry. I'm not a koolaid drinking nerd-boy freak. I don't have a 'ritual' with opening a new mac's packaging. WTF? Some of us are normal, get laid, have lives.
