Apple's final Macworld booth in photos
Macs and iPhones are driving the the latest chapter of the Apple growth story but that's not the pictured painted by the company's exhibit at this year's Macworld Expo, where the usual suspects have taken a back seat to the latest innovations in consumer media and productivity software.
The Mac maker's final booth at Macworld mirrors those of years past, though the highlights are undoubtedly new versions of iWork and iLife. Mac Pros, Mac minis and Apple TV are amongst the no-shows at San Francisco's Moscone Center, while an army of iMacs serve only as portals for show goes interested in taking the latest iApps for a spin. A sprawling banner suspended from the ceiling of Apple's booth states the arrival of iLife '09 and iWork '09, as do two larger and more vertical adverts that flank the front-most perimeter. Buried towards the back left-hand side of the centralized Apple theater are a couple of circular tables holding iPhones and iPod touches. Meanwhile, an array of colored nanos can be seen affixed to the left wall of the theater, almost as a decorative afterthought. MacBooks aren't getting much play either, where the entire family of top-selling notebooks -- including the MacBook Air and four 17-inch MacBook Pros -- are confined to a single table on the far right end of the booth. The sentiment at this year's show is noticeably subdued. There are fewer attendees and the resounding sentiment is that the Cupertino-based firm has left much to be desired from a more personal event that will arrive at a place and time of its own choosing. |

GOod riddance to bad rubbish.
Apple doesn't need MacWorld any more than Sony needs CES.
Once you go Mac, you never go back!

It looks like Steve Jobs selected the wardrobe of all the Apple employees working MacWorld.

I really like the new iLife and iWork logo designs. I wish Adobe would hire whoever did those for their product branding - the big clump of squares on my dock is super fugly.

Ok if everyone wears the same clothing it looks professional, not because Steve wanted to. Black top has been always apple's look.

I know, but they are easy to pick out. Remember CS2 and CS? I constantly got InDesign and Illustrator mixed up. It's worse when you are dragging a file to the wrong dock item to open it in the wrong application.
I'm no square but isn't that counter-indicated by my operations manual?

Really? Hmm i think its much better than some feathers or flowers that have nothing to do with the product. I don't think Adobe had a problem finding good designers, they just wanted the minimalist's look. I think it reflects CS4's UI pretty good.

I like the little stainless steel iPhone stands that Apple uses in their booth. Anyone know if they can be bought anywhere?

They would have been custom made for Apple. They may be plastic also.
Collecting my SSD iMac Fry-die. :D

glowing lanyards?
Are the lanyards for the attendees badges made with reflective material? They glow pretty brightly in every photo. I wonder if there was some operational reason Macworld did that?

Man, who sets up all that?!? Must take a few days to setup all those Macs and large billboards. I must say, Apple does have quite the presence there.
