Ren and Stimpy Return!
March 4, 2003 - Wireless Flash
New `Ren & Stimpy' Toons: Older, Wiser, Filthier LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) -- When "Ren & Stimpy" returns to TV in early June, fans will see an older, wiser -- and filthier -- version of the characters. That's the straight poop from "Ren & Stimpy" creator John Kricfalusi, who tells "Animation" magazine that the new cartoons are geared more for adults who watch TNN than the kids who watch Nickelodeon. As a result, some of the scenes get pretty racy, like when Ren kicks a bum in the groin while admonishing Stimpy: "Always give your house a kick in the ball sack before you leave it." In Kricfalusi's words, "I don't think we could have done that in the original series." Still, he doesn't expect to win any prizes for his efforts because, in his words, "you get awards if you make some movie about a retard." This I hope is a good sign too...Spumco's site has been down for a long time...I watched Ripping Friends sometimes but Ren and Stimpy, Jimmy the Idiot, George Liquor and Sody Pop rule...

I wonder who will do the voices. Billy West always did Stimpy - sort of a Curley of the Three Stooges voice. And John K originated Ren, with B.West taking over later.

Sounds like it's not going to be as good. The best part about the first R&S was that it was funny, not gross or offensive.
We used to have two unix machines where I work called Hoek and Stimpy. Ren was already taken. |

What made them great was that they were unbearably funny in spite of it. All-new Ren & Stimpy from the master himself - joy!!!
If yer gonna bother with thinking different, swing for the fences.

The original ones weren't gross? Are you kidding?
Do you remember when Ren had Stimpy's butt fat taken out and implanted into him so he would look muscular? [ 03-04-2003: Message edited by: Stagger ]
|

It's the one where they are in space and go mad. You know Ren says "My dreamy ice-cream bar. HOW I LOVE YOU!" then he take a bite out of his bar of soap.

He was revolutionary in taking his ideas and creations onto the Web where he didn't have any censorship at all. Including the fact that JK was one of the pioneers of Flash animation. He started it all...ok, ripping friends does suck... ![]() [ 03-05-2003: Message edited by: Artman @_@ ]

Don't forget the Merchandising, where the real money is made. Oh, wait a minute I'm thinking of Space Balls not Space madness.

Oh Joy! Now this is a thread worth merit. I have always wondered why they canceled Ren & Stimpy. One of the best cartoons since Simpsons or Felix the Cat. Anyway don't forget, "don't wiz on the Electric Fence" or "hhhmmmm, no sir, I don't like it" or always a favorite, "save my baby, save my horse, save my elephant, save meeeee!"
I've seen things you little people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion bright as magnesium. I rode on the back decks of a blinker and watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser Gate. All those moments... they'll be gone.

I still have the dolls. The Ren one where you pull out his belly button and he talks, and the Stimpy one where you pull the belly button lint.

I have a large soft Stimpy, if that isn't some kind of innuendo I apologise.
