well seeing as you guys are capable of posting these smilies despite them not being offically on the AI UBB....why don't you just keep a sticky with the codes to your fav. smilies and you can use them when you need too.
though not AS conveniant, it still gets the job done

we've got all the smiles we need for now.

apparently, there's a big backlash against ones that are bigger than the normal sized ones that we have now; as they screw up post formatting and, in general, look stupid....
