Open MS Works files on a Mac?

Is there a way to open MS Works files on a Mac? Maclinks Plus 13 didnt help...

Ummmm, don't -think- it can be done.
I know that the last time I checked you couldn't open MS Publisher files in any other application.

not that anybody would want to.......

What program are you trying to open them from. The problem with MS Works files,is that even Microsoft Office apps on windows dont really support them either, except for realy old formats. what you usuallyhave to do, is in works, save the files as old office formats, like old excel or word docs formats and then many apps can import those.

Exactly..... I just dealt with this problem a few days ago.

I had a .wks file (MS Works Spreadsheet) given to me. Nothing would open it including Office 2000 on my Virtual PC !.

I ended up emailing it to a friend's PC which had Microsoft Works (everyone's favorite oxymoron!) on it, saved as an older Excel for Windows format, emailed it back to myself and Excel from Office X opened it right up.
