    Here's something to start with:

    Real Plug and Play.

    Fewer security holes.

    Stability.

    Better user interface.

Quartz graphics layer - antialiasing, built in PDF, smoothed fonts, 128X128 icons, transparencies, drop shadows, genie effect, GPU accelerated GUI, cursor casts its own shadow, no bit-maps .

Multiprocessor support. XP Home doesn't have it.

    Sherlock 3 and/or Watson.

iMovie, iTunes, iPhoto, iDVD, iCal, iSync, iChat

    Multi-threaded Finder.

Actual CD burning support out of the box.

    Columns view.

    Near zero hard disk fragmentation.

    Rendezvous.

    Inkwell.

    System wide address book.

    Microsoft Office v.X

    Software Airport Base Station.

Services - now works in the Finder with Jaguar.

    .Mac

    Spring-loaded folders.

    Core Audio.

    Plug and Play networking.

    Long file names.

    Animated folder icons.

    Multi-threaded boot.

    Free developer tools.

    Very good developer tools.

    Keychain.

Scientific calculator, complete with paper tape.

AppleScript - Can control and automate everything by typing plain English.

    CURPS printing

    Bluetooth support

    Built-in speech recognition

    Speech-to-text

    No product key activation.

    Apache

Unix based - And the all features that come with it

    The Dock

    No Wizards.

    No Yellow dogs.

    No Fisher Price.

    Full keyboard access.

    Hide Application command

    Hide every other application command

    Save as PDF.

    No registry.

    No device manager.

    Easy to change permissions.

Software updating that isn't done through IE.

    Universal Access.

    Desktop slide show.

Built-in Mail client that puts Outlook Express to shame.

    Stickies

QuickTime isn't slow on a Mac.

    RealOne uses Altivec.

    Smart window resizing.

    Finder kicks Windows Explorers butt.

Easy to hide any tool bar.

    Drag and drop installations.

Dragging a program's folder or icon to the trash actually deletes it.

    Previews in the Finder.

QuickTime movies and DVDs play in the Dock.

    Transparent command line Window.

    Doesn't make Bill Gates richer.

its funny...5 years ago if you asked this question mac heads wouldn't have hal of the great responses that we've got here now...thanks OS X(and I guess I should say thanks windows XP for not being all that its cracked up to be in the slightest)

digital audio is the worst on a pc...I should know...we installed a couple of demos and stuff on my gaming pc(just for kicks) yikes...three hours of frustration I could do without.

Total time to set up my home Mac network: &lt;10 minutes.

Total time to network friend's PC desktop and IBM Thinkpad: I'll let you know if we ever figure it out.

Hey, and don't forget about 'Target Disc.' All Macs have a Firewire port and that target disc trick is the slickest thing since corn in a can.

If someone asks you why you think Macs are better than PCs, just quote Louis Armstrong. Satchmo was once asked "what is jazz?"

    He replied:

"If you have to ask, you'll never know."

Maybe he doesn't know because it's harder to do on the PC.

"Everything is easier on a Mac" is an Apple motto for a reason.

One of the biggest differences between XP and OSX is the Internet experience. I hate to report that XP leaves OSX in the dust in terms of speed and reliability. <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />
