I've often though Apple could do themselves a favour by picking up Intaglio (an OSX equivalent of MacDraw) and including it in iWork and I'd think there would be a MacPaint equivalent too but I've just not looked.
the original Mac had a paint program. I would think that a slightly revamped Preview.app with simple options for brush strokes, shapes, etc would be a welcome addition. As it stands right now, I can only recall using Windows on Parallels for MS Paint and some .EXE Cisco simulators.

Actually Blutooth (EDR) can transfer files at 2.1MB/s, that's a lot, lot faster than EDGE and faster than most email once you factor in the upload to SMTP servers. WiFi would be best, but the iPhone doesn't support Bonjour yet either.

Hands free in CA

That's July 1, 2008 not last week.

That means Voice dialing, NOT touch dialing. How could they miss such a key feature?
They have the bluetooth headsets, why no handsfree dialing? It is a fundamental here.

Hey I don't have a machine supporting Flash at this point. I don't have it on my Linux machine, portable or any phone I won. It just isn't something that is worht while.

If I go to a web site with a flash entrance way I either navigate around it or don't use the site. If it is a commercial sight I take my money else where. Some times I will notify the web sites owner sometimes not. Either way no business from me.

Commercial sights do respond too, so it is something I recommend to everybody. That is voice your opinions.

By the way part of that opinion has more to do with flashes band width wastage. Flash itself is bad but the wasted bandwidth is even worst.

question about ichat

If they add iChat to the iPhone, will chatting on iChat be the same as sending SMS text messages? Or will they be separate?

Does anyone else find it amusing that Porn is more of a concern to him than Identity Theft, Predators or Viruses?

Happens fairly regularly for me. I'm sure someone will work out a basic drawing tool at some point that works with your finger. I presume the iPhone knows where the center of the finger tip is so you'd just need a cross hair cursor following that point around but I suspect it'll be like fingerpainting to a stylus' scribbles. It could be quite cool with multi touch though, letting you zoom in/out to draw with vectors instead of bitmaps.
So, basically, you want a notepad with the same features as my 1996 Newton MessagePad?

Welcome to the forum. I guess I should be happy that I am able to amuse someone.

But to clarify, the reason I started the list with porn is because it is the number 1 method of implementing many of the other things on the list.

Here is an example of how it works:

Trafficers of stolen credit cards go to a partner porn site and buy their own porn subscription with the stolen credit card to launder the money. The sick part about it is that it goes undetected and unreported for months as $50 dollars here and there gets siphoned off of the account every month. It's all about the money, except for the predators which is all about wicked perversion... and porn.

I doubt it will happen. SMS is the lowest common denominator for sending a simple text message to an from a cheap phone. From Apple's POV they are generous for even includng this archiac and rubimentary form of text messaging. If you want to send images just use the mail client.. assuming the destination has a robust email viewer.

I'm truly sorry to hear that. What a pain in the ass and you can't even use the iPhone's basic features until it's activated.

Segue... I was certain that all those iPhone training videos would come on the iPhone for use prior to activating and syncing. I was dead wrong.

10M through 2008. 18 months. It looks they sold over a 250 million in the first 24 hours. I think 1M in the first week and 10M before the end of the 2007 is doable . 1M units will give Apple a 0.1% installed base or an 80-85% marketshare for the week of June 29th.
About your comment on sms. Rudimentary...maybe. Archaic...I think not. Tell me what are the percentage of the amount of phones out there with "robust email viewer". SMS is still a widely used form of messaging for portable devices. BTW, they only sold 500,000 in the first week.

Smile does this reach Apple

I have read many of the great suggestions on the blog. Is it anyones opinion that Apple reads or even cares about these inputs. The voice dialing is right on point as a need as is many other suggestions. This alone brings functionality up to par with some ability already in the market. I love the phone but there are some existing functions on other phones that apple needs to address.

1, Voice Dialing
2. To do lists
3. Ringtones from Itunes
4. Ability to delete several emails at a time
5. Ability to delete one phone call at a time
6. Ability to find edge network when sitting in a wireless environment that is locked. (Example in a starbucks when you do not want to be on T-Mobile. My phone never seeks out Edge because it sees the presence of T-Mobile
7. A find feature on contacts. I like the scrolling but it is cumbersome at times.
8. Louder ringtones
9. Louder notification of text messages. The existing is very poor.

I love the phone but there are some critical upgrades that are needed if Apple wants the PR to stay positive...... While the styling hooked me as well as the fact that I like Apple, the phone needs more to justify the price. I had a lot more function on a device I gave up but it always had difficulty downloading to a Pocket PC / Smartphone device. Apple, come on now
