Who'da thunk it? Microsoft delay an already overdue product update?

MacWorld Article.

Given the amount of warning that Microsoft has had about the switch to Intel, I'm pretty annoyed about this.

    Not really surprised.

Don't really care. 04 is working fine for me when I need it and I've not received docs in win office 07 so no issue there. Seems the new win version of office isn't of to a blazing start.

Frankly I don't know if I'll bother to upgrade anyway. I know some people are more reliant on office than I am and I feel sorry for them.

    Typical.

They probably want to cash in on the new iMac an Leopard buying spree that will occur. Sell as much of Office 2004 and then sell it all over again to the same people when 2008 comes out in Jan.

Considering the next version of Mac Office removes VBA I wouldn't consider it an upgrade from the current version anyway. MS' cry of "We had to move to Xcode ... WAH!" doesn't fly with me. Intel Macs came out last year, what the hell has the MBU been doing all this time? It's not like they came out with new versions of MSN Messenger, or WMP or IEEEE or anything else for Mac.

Aside from the use of Entourage in corporate environments, MS Office has become somewhat frivolous. The ability to read and write PDFs has become more indispensible to the modern workplace than has MS Office.

Microsoft is just shite. 'Nuff said. Vista is dead-on-arrival. Zune? Stillborn too. 'Nuff said.

I like your use of the word "frivolous". Very apt.
