Hi,

I just found something interesting on the dutch apple online store.

It seems there are more grapics cards options comming for the new mac pro

They mention the ATI Radeon HD 3870 in the "learn more" window

Belgian Apple Store

Pay attention to the last sentences of those 2 cards.

It look like the webmasters are waiting for more information...

ATI Radeon HD 3870

We need performance numbers to position this card relative to 8800 GT. Also, a PCIe2.0 card.

NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT

Looks like they have taken out the offending section now too, and replaced it with a duplicate of the HDD info.

    Good catch.

The 3870 is a nice card but is outclassed by the 8800gt.

The 3850 would be an outstanding entry level card for the Mac Pro or an BTO option for the iMac. And its reasonably priced.

If it was BTO on the iMac? I'd buy the iMac 24 incher in a beat.

I'm assuming these PCIe 2.0 cards will work in the older Mac Pros... just not as fast. I see that Apple finally has some of these for sale individually on their store.
