TomTom GPS software coming to iPhone
GPS device maker TomTom says it already has a version of its popular navigation software running on the iPhone and that it plans to begin selling it through Apple's App Store at a later date.
"Our navigation system runs on the iPhone already," a TomTom spokesman told Reuters following the announcement of Apple's iPhone 3G with GPS technology on Monday.
During the iPhone 3G announcement, Apple showed off its own version of a GPS-enabled Google Maps running on the handset. The demo displayed a small dot making its way down Lombard Street -- the most winding street in the world.
Apple once code-named one of its late PowerBook G3 designs after street due to its streamlined and curvy enclosure.

Hmm... wouldn't a fraction of a second delay of "real-time" information qualify as non-real-time?

Yea it was Electronista:
Apple may be attempting to block competition when it comes to GPS navigation on the iPhone, developers have observed. In the most recent version of the iPhone SDK, Section 3.3.7 of the license agreement tells users that; applications may not be designed or marketed for real time route guidance..
Maybe Apple doesn't want to be sued when those cars crash while blindly following what their device says?
