Apple's patch fails to fix DNS flaw

I found this link at another site and looks very much the client side of OS X is still unpatched even after the security update. Now it looks like apple are going backwards with things rather badly.

Mac OS X clients still at risk, situation on servers unknown

and a another article and how to check here

Lets hope apple pull their collective fingers out and fix the issues properly very soon.

Let's see the fanboys defend this one...

Damn, Apple really do suck sometimes. Unfortunately, the "sometimes" seem to be coming more regular of late

I have done some testing and the flaw is still in OS X client. I also tested a linux system which had also been patched and no issues showed up.

    More info:

During testing on my mac OS X 10.5.4 fully patched with latest update

The DNS port numbers run one after another which means the flaw is actually still there

On my Linux box also fully patched

The DNS port numbers are rather random and is showing the flaw is totally patched.

Hmm... a less-than-stellar MobileMe launch, flaws in the iPhone's software, patches which don't patch... something's wrong at Apple QA
