Question about downloads

Thread Starter
When I download something, a widget for example, can I delete the .dmg file or will that cause the app to not operate. Sorry I'm still new to this.

Thanks,
Dan

a .dmg file is an image.... think of it like a CD... you open the .dmg to put the CD into the drive and the image pops up so you can run the file...
generally what you want to go is copy the contents of that image to wherever you want it on your hard drive then you can "eject" the image and delete the "CD" (.dmg)

get it?
