Yeah, I'm still on (as of Sunday morning, PST). I kept getting e-mails from Cox @Home (sounds like an amateur porn site) saying what was happening and they have been (and still were) taking steps to make sure there is no interruption in the service.
So far so good.
Once everything is squared away, I too wonder if I'll notice any sort of improvement. Seems like the past several months, this cable modem of mine is not as fast as it was back in the summer and early fall. Pages take a tad longer to load and so forth.
We have a cable modem at work and just about everything is instantaneous. Here at home, there's a bit of a lag, even though there used to not be.
I'm hoping it'll all be dealt with shortly and things are back to 100% speed/performance.
No matter what, it's a gazillion times better than dial-up, if only for the "always on/always connected" aspect. I can't imagine NOT walking by my iMac 67 times a day and easily checking my e-mail, without having to dial-up, connect, check, disconnect, etc.
Ugh!
