I think that israel is the center of controversy because they are surrounded by intolerant hateful people. if you ask me, they show incredible restraint. If Iraq or Palestine had a nuke then we probably wouldn't be talking about the Middle east right now. Because it wouldn't exist!</strong><hr></blockquote>
Finally someone has said something that makes sense!
Oh, and btw Iraq is almost at the nuclear stage, not that it makes that much of a difference as they already have weapons of mass destruction.
Just to let you know, if the US attacks Iraq, and this time is aiming to overthrow Saddam, should the US become close to accomplishing that goal he will launch missiles equiped with biological and/or chemical weapons for Israel.
Once that happens, Israel will respond with a nuclear attack on Bagdad. Oh and FYI this is not just my reasoning.
If the Palestinians (not Palestine, there is no state, and never has been a state called Palestine) have nuclear weapons (say a Ramadan present or whatever from Saddam) and they try to attack Israel with it, they'd destroy themselves. The Palestinian territories, including the area of East Jerusalem would be destroyed as well.
They'd end up killing themselves. Sure, there are tons of suicide bombings, but the idea is there are still many more Palestinians to create their own state, but using nukes would mean there'd be no chance of that.
Oh and about the JDL, apparently they were created in NYC (from what I read) to protect Jews from Arab attacks or something to that affect.
All terrorists should be punished, but if all the JDL does is talk tough but not make any real threats towards anyway, then they're not doing anything wrong - they're not hurting anybody.
Remember, those two who are accused are innocent until proven guilty! I know that's already been said here but I feel that it needs to be mentioned again.
Let's say there was a hypothetical situation where the JDL had information that a neo nazi or militant Arab and/or Muslim group was going to attack Jewish targets, does that give the JDL the right to launch an attack, say at a building that might house weapons and so on?
Just curious what you people think.
There is a good chance this is to appease the Arabs and Muslims, but we cannon jump to conclusions. Just to let some of those who don't know, this Jewish militantism (if that's a word) is very rare, especially compared to Palestinian and other Arab terrorist groups and organizations.
This is way in the minority. And they were created (originally) for defence of the Jewish people.
Jews or Israelis who are jailed or questioned by the US for anything, whether it be for supposed terrorist acts or student visa violations, the US must be very careful how they treat them and how they investigate.
I doubt many of you heard about the Israelis who were arrested in New York after someone said they took a picture of themselves along with the WTC (after the incidient) and somehow thought they "must be terrorists".
Well, they were arested, and purposely kept with (from the story that I read) with Arabs and Muslims in prison who then beat them. The Israelis were deprived of proper food, sleep, and toiletry needs.
There was another thing that happened. A couple Orthodox Jews were praying (in Hebrew) on an airplane. Another passenger(s) heard them speaking in a language other than English, thought they must be terrorists and were scared. I believe the plane landed but I'm not sure what happened after that.
Tolerance people!
