Applied Digital Solutions wants to implant a chip in you!

[quote]Firm plans to sell implantable devices that can store a variety of data about you.

A Florida company is poised to become the first to sell microchips designed to be implanted into human beings, an achievement that opens the door to new systems of medical monitoring and ID screening.
Implantable chips have long been discussed by technologists and denounced by those who object on religious grounds or fear their use by a totalitarian state. But the company that did the test, Applied Digital Solutions of Palm Beach, said the specter of terrorism is shifting attitudes. The direct union of man and computer is no longer dismissed out of hand.

I suppose I wouldn't mind a chip under my skin as long as it was a G5! Seriously though, this technology freaks me out. I though human bar-codes were supposed to come first...

Revelation 13:

16 Also it [the beast] causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, 17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. 18 This calls for wisdom: let him who has understanding reckon the number of the beast, for it is a human number, its number is six hundred and sixty-six.

(Someone had to draw that connection)

BTW, I am not saying that Applied Digital is the beast, just the parallels are interesting. Once this is perfected it can be used in just such a way.

I have heard that these chips can be made to be powered off the bodies own energy and the reason for putting them in the right hand or forehead would be because thost places have a naturally higher level of lithium. No links yet (google searching now) but I find all of this interesting. Sort of a hobby of mine.

Fun quote from the article:
[quote]Applied Digital, which had revenue of $165 million last year, has made its mark by selling electronic chips that help farmers keep tabs on the health and safety of their cows and other livestock.

As promised the link.

[quote]After 20 years of developing, the group perfected a chip so small that it can go through the hypodermic needle. It size is 0.75mm in diameter and 7mm in length. It is smaller than a grain of rice and can be injected into body using the hypodermic needle. The chip has 250,000 components and runs on lithium battery. The battery has to be recharged through a recharging circuit using the body temperature. The group found that two places where body temperature changes fastest are the area on the forehead below the hairline and the area on the back of the hand. Thus, the chip will be implanted on the body in either of these two places that have been prophesied in the book of Apocalypse two thousand years ago.

So body heat changes, not Lithium.

One thing I learned along time ago is not to listen to people who's hobby it is to theorize about the book of revalations

..except rev. Doctor Gene Scott from channel 38 bay area...(what wever happened to that freak... I actually enjoyed him...what a whaccko...Werner Herzog even made a short film about him)

The reference to the places in the body come from a specialist page on apocalypse theorizing.... i seriously doubt that this is true

...its kind of like that Christian anti-semite church that sees signs of the end times in the 'fact' that there are 50.000 chinese troops and special tank units amassed at the Mexican border. ..?!?!?

If you look at Revelations and see parallels to now, then Bush is the Anti-Christ because it says that a war will be started in the middle east region and the powers of the beast will rule the air . . . kinda scary huh?

I think I can prophesize where this company is headed without Revelations. Sounds like a cheap publicity stunt in a desperate attempt to woo new investment.

Bio-chip my arse. If someone tries to implant a chip in my forehead, I'll implant my foot so far up their ass they'll [crap nikes for a week].

This is a big-brother technology if there ever was one. I hope someone bombs their offices over the holiday (when no one's there of course). Happy Holidays, you Orwellian scumbags.

I'm with Moogs on this one. I'm an unabashed Christian and this stuff wreaks to hell.

ter·ror·ism (tr-rzm)
n.
The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons.

"Applied Digital Solutions of Palm Beach, said the specter of terrorism is shifting attitudes"

So far their lacking in the force and violence dept but their idea sounds a little like terrorism methinks. Arseholes...if i'm sick let me die if I can't be cured I don't need your 24/7 monitoring.

Well, as to the first part of your post, nobody knows exactly what is going to happen or when. But there are certain signs that are not hard to see. Sure, there are many people who theorize about the Revelation that really are a bit off base (and some that are way off base). This site was the first easily found site, and I have seen the information posted other places as well. It is interesting though how similar the information is. Did you bother to do any reasearch on the scientist mentioned in the article? I bet not...

As far as the part you quoted. From what I have read the US does not appear to fall into the Revelation, at least not as a major player. The anti-christ will also claim to be God and will ensure security and peace for Isreal for 7 years. I will however assume that the last part of your past was mostly a joke...

Does this chip run XP? How do I block the port?

Seriously, I don't believe in God of any kind and I have given many hours (like weeks) of thought about the whole religion thing.(You don't want to make the wrong choice in this!), but its kind of wierd/thought provoking that someone wrote a few thousand years ago about the 'beast' and now someone is proposing these chips, I dont know what the 666 has to do with it though. My theory of 666 is that it is 3 gay men, as in the '69' position, I cant think of any other symbolic meaning of it!

ive been on the lookout for 3 gay men ever since I thought that up. *DONT TAKE THAT THE WRONG WAY*

whodya think?

George Bush
Saddam
Osama

They'll never implant me with the chips, Could there be a law requiring implantation in a population? Or would it never get through?

If this ever became popular, I think It would have to come in through the back-door!!! I think they would make these chips have certain values/properties that would make people queue up to get them through choice.

If indeed the mark of the beast comes to pass and a chip like this were used then things will be much different than they are now. Something devastating is going to happen that will change a lot of peoples minds about a lot of things. (Think 9-11 only on a global scale) One man will rise above the rest and take power of the entire world. One world government, one religion, one currency. It will be a virtual utopia, or as close as people have ever seen. Then things will start to go downhill. The man in charge will declare himself God and demand to be worshiped as such. He will demand that everyone take his mark or be put to death. So yeah, it will be a law, sort of. Take it or we put you to death. No back door there. Anyhow, watching things as they are progressing in the middle east, nuclear worries, and other issues somewhat hidden from the rest of the world, it could happen any day now. Or it could be in a hundred years. Once it gets going, it will be fairly clear what is happening to those who have studied it. I hope it happens in my lifetime, AND I hope it does not happen in my lifetime. The first reason is because once it starts it will be roughly 7 years until the return of Jesus , and the reason I don't hope it happens in my lifetime is because it will be the WORST 7 years of my life getting there.
