Twin Peaks Pilot?

Hi-

I just got the Twin Peaks 1st season DVD collection for my birthday, which was exciting. But when I went to watch it, it begins *after* the 2-hour premiere. Arrrgh...Anybody know where I can get the first episode? It's not available for sale anywhere that I can find. WTF?

Help me, AppleInsiders, you're my only hope.

The pilot has never been released in the U.S. because of rights issues. (Lynch and Frost financed the pilot in part by selling its video rights, so the rights to the pilot are owned separately from the rights to the episodes.)

There is a version of the pilot on VHS with an altered ending that was sold only in Europe, if you can find it; otherwise you would have to resort to a bootleg.

Actually there are a bunch of legit Hong Kong versions on eBay. I just got one a few weeks ago...the quality is so-so, but it is the best you can do. Plus it does not have the tacked-on ending. Here is a link from the same person I bought it from. I can highly recomend him. Disc arrived promptly, was sealed, and cane in good packaging.

You can also go to <a href="http://www.scarecrowvideo.com" target="_blank">www.scarecrowvideo.com</a> -- these guys import it and re-sell it. They're based in Seattle, and their brick & mortar video store is by far the coolest video store I've ever been in.... and I used to manage video stores, years ago, so I've been in a lot of them.
