I just lost $20,000 on the superbowl!!!!

Who in the right mind thought that the Rams would lose??? There goes my Acura RSX Type-S. I actually didn't lose that much money. I jokingly said to a friend "I'll bet you $20,000 the Rams win." He goes "OK" Let's hope he forgot <img src="graemlins/smokin.gif" border="0" alt="[Chilling]" />

The scary and sad thing, though this is the risk they take, is that there are probably people out there who actually did lose $20,000 or even more on the SuperBowl.

You win some, you lose some. Sometimes, you lose big.

And there was like a 16 point point-spread in favor of the Rams. I'm so glad the underdog won, especially seeing as though I am a New Englander also. Congrats Pats!

Every year I put money on eight teams (to win the SuperBowl) before the season starts, I put $100 on each. Lost $700 on seven teams, made $??? on the Patriots.

I still feel guilty cheering on a team I don't follow.

I work in a hotel over here as a bartender, and on Friday night we had some people in who work for Sporting Index, the spread betting company. They were staying up in Fife for one night before going down to Edinburgh for the Calcutta Cup game. The spread on the match was England at +18, and they thought that there was no way it would be reached, so they put £1100 a point on Scotland to beat the spread. I hate to think what they were like afterwards, when England won by 26 points! Ouch.

I heard the preseason odds were 70 to 1. So with commission and the cost of the other seven bets factored in, I'm guessing you made over $5500. Not bad!
