Did anybody else think the dancing icicles in the opening ceremony of the Olympics looked like a mob of the KKK?

I think these same to strands of conversation are happening in every US household watching. The commentators should shut their mouths, everything they say is bashing someone, its the Olympics, aren't we spose to play nice?

At one point he even stated something like "most of these people have no real hope of winning a medal so this first night of walking around and waving is a really big deal to them."

What a jerk, could you minimize people more? The closest this guy will ever come to the pure experience these people will have over this week is sitting in that box ripping on them, he ought to have more respect.

If there's one thing thing we can all come together on, it's love of mavcs and a universal hatred of Bob Costas. The KKK thing didn't occur to me at first, but you're right. Now, shifting the topic slightly, are people OK with how the 9-11 remembrance was handled? Anyhoo, the portion showing right now is rather nice IMO. Not too cheesy for a change, actually beautiful.

I was deeply offended. Where do we get off signing God bless America. First we have separation of church and state. It's in the Constitution. Read it sometime. Then the US wants god to bless them and no one else. What arrogance. The jingoism was intolerable.

I admit tonight was a poor representation of him and especially Kouric, not sure what was going through their heads tonight.

Bob Costas is God. He makes the NBC Olympics so much better than the CBS Olympics.

Oh please. Bob Costas cannot keep his mouth shut. If silence kills, then Bob Costas will live forever.

If Costas was lynched by those klan look alike ice skaters for the closing ceremonies then I will be a happy camper.

My problem with big Bobby is how he...overglamorizes everything he says:

Normal Speak:

"He woke up this morning, went to the store to buy some milk, and later saw a movie."

Costas Speak:

After preparing for what can only be considered a great quest, he travelled perilously to the local market, where he purchased a container of milk -- milk that would make him strong. THAT'S why I don't like Bob Costas. There's a time and place for that kind of stuff, but for Bob, that time never stops.

Bob Costas is also sharp as a razor..and he has a superior photographic memory...so that he can bring up factoid after factoid...

Plus...he did that lemonade bit Craig Kilborn asked him to do during an NBA game...

I hope you're kidding. The first amendment says :

I don't see how you can equate Congress making a law respecting an establishment of religion with singing God Bless America at the Olympics. In fact, it would violate the First Amendment if God Bless America was restricted from being sung because Congress would be making a law respecting an establishment of religion.

It's demeaning, that's what. Some things, although true, and well known, are still better left unsaid.

As for the KKK on ice, that's the first things that popped into my head when I saw them.
