I mentioned that a while back too. I really didn't give it much thought to the implementation though. I don't know much about the technology required but it would seem to me that the module part would have to have an antenna hanging off of it like my notebook 3G card because an internal antenna would have to be specifically designed for one wireless platform or the other. That antenna sticking out would be very contrary to the expected clean lines and elegant style of the rumored device.

surprise surprise surprise translation, no free web browsing of tv shows. That right there kills it for me and quote a few others I know. Why pay anything when the networks have all the shows online, most of the time. In fact. ABC sold season 5 of Lost this December now you watch all seasons 1-5 FREE online. If this device is tied to iTunes, it's not going to sell well, no wonder the networks said no, they have their own adverts online.

The only way this will fly different is if yo can watch content on the device via the browser and don't try and tell me of the iPhones success. A lot of people are pretty ticked of that in places like china they can watch TV on their phones and we can't even stream tomorrows Evette live and by the sound of it, it appears there will be no flash which is used by most steaming entertainment not youboob.

I hope Apple proves us wrong.

I don't understand how television shows is a deal breaker for you or anybody else. To want to watch shows on a 10in screen will be a tiresome chore. The cost of the tablet will easily get you a 37 - 50 HDTV with a HD antenna that will make watching television shows much more enjoyable.

I had the iphone,then dropped it and went back to verizon. I miss the iphone,but am satisfied with the droid eris for now until verizon gets the iphone. The only thing i have to question about the rumors of verizon getting the iphone sometime this year is why would Verizon dump so much time and money(also bashing iphone&at&t) into droid then just do a 180 and start pushing the iphone.Most verizon customers will line up for the iphone and ditch there droids. They will be just tossing droid to the side. The average consumer is familiar with the iphone,its simple and proven a success.The droid is a good phone,but its still not simplified like the iphone.

I hope i'm dead wrong and apple announces on the 27th the iphone is coming to verizon , but something is telling me that Verizon won't be offering the iphone until 2011,2012

Right or wrong, that is why apple wants to sell you the apple tv. It is the apple tv, not the tablet, that depends on the quality and quantity of the content (shows and movies) available to it.

The app store is where the tablet will reside and flourish.

Apple takes the ONE system they have, OS X, and tailor it to the device it's going to run on. There is a file-system on the iPhone, just no finder. There's a reason Apple wants all code to be done in Cocoa ON THE MAC. The touch interface is built on Cocoa. The more that OS X is Cocoa, the more features can be ported over. But, touch UI requires a different way of manipulation, so of coarse it's going to LOOK different. Under the hood it's just a Lexus with a V6 instead of a V8.

If you want TV on your phone, go to WalMart pick out a free phone from Verizon, etc, and pay the $10 a month fee, it is really that simple, and a lot of people do that. You don't need an iPhone or even Windows Mobile based phone. You can subscribe to either Live TV or even TV on demand content, and it works "reasonably" well even in non 3G areas, and is quite nice in 3G areas.
